Ordered takeaway here on a Saturday night and paid by card. While I was waiting outside, a staff member actually came out with the EFTPOS machine to tell me I’d been charged the cash price by mistake and needed to pay an extra 58 cents — on a $38 order. They couldn’t just let it go.

Are you serious? It’s not just petty — it’s laughable. Who in their right mind chases a customer over 58 cents after they’ve already paid and are just waiting for their food? The lack of basic customer service, let alone common sense, is honestly embarrassing.

As I used to eat weekly at China Bar Swanston Street pre Covid, decided to give this new China Bar a go as I live locally Ordered the same dry noodles with wanton. Had to pay a 10% surcharge as China Bar has surcharges on Saturday and Sunday. Paid $18.90. What was served to me was uncooked noodles with dry and hard meat and dried out wontons. The only nice thing about the meal was the vegetables. I had asked for takeaway chopsticks and wooden spoon. The waitress wanted to charge me for that but I objected as NO other cafe or restaurant charges for takeaway cutlery so she backed down. It was a horrible meal unlike the lovely same meal from China Bar Swanston Street. Won't be going back although I am a local. Food Quality 1/5...

I clearly wrote that I want my food to be well done, because I am pregnant. After eating the outter part of the chicken, I just realized the fried hainam chicken was raw in the middle. Told the male waiter about this, and he said it's ok to eat, coz it's natural, the blood came from the bones (???). I told him again, I'm pregnant, I can't eat raw food like this. He stood still, saying he cannot do anything else, no refund, no solution, no apology. Clearly him and the chef got no clue about food safety and the danger of salmonela to pregant women, or just didnt care at all.
