The man on 25 Jan was really rude to us for having an ice cream here when we didn’t realise it wasn’t the seating for the gelato shop. It was very quiet and it wasn’t like we were taking up seats from other customers.

I am very disappointed as this was my go to coffee shop in Mornington and I used to tell people to go here because not only was the coffee nice but the staff were very lovely. When did the service get so unfriendly?

What a shame, I won’t be going back nor recommending this coffee shop in future.

Response to owners comment: I have experienced your service in the past many times and the staff used to be friendly on those occasions. This experience was extremely unpleasant and I feel an obligation to leave my review up as the man was indeed quite rude and was not polite or friendly in the slightest. If your service has suffered so much due to covid then perhaps don’t let people be rude to your loyal customers. Like I said this was my go to coffee shop but this person was rude and we didn’t even realise it wasn’t the ice cream shop. How do you know we weren’t going to get a coffee as soon as we finished out ice cream? We were planning on it and I was literally about to get up and grab 2 coffees but decided that I’m not going to be treated like that and we went to another...

Terrible experience. After having to repeat our coffee order 5 times in the space of 5mins I was nervous. My worst fears were realised when served a regular coffee which should have been a decaf coffee - repeated 4 times to confirm when ordering - the impact on my husband after drinking the regular coffee rather than decaf was profound. My husband can’t tolerate caffeine which is why he drinks decaf. He suffered adversely all afternoon & into the evening. I wanted to write this review to highlight the negative repercussions of not serving what is ordered. Very poor. Staff need training on not just taking orders correctly but also understanding that there can be medical repercussions for making a mistake. I would also like to highlight that the cafe needs a good clean. Tables were dirty, floor & counter tops filthy & open door with overflowing bins are a health hazard. As a hospitality professional, this premises would not pass a council...

Really used to love this place but two bad experiences recently and won’t be returning. Most recently there were five young staff messing around behind the counter, one who was slouched over the register took my order, didn’t take a name or ask if I wanted takeaway. Literally just stated the cost, this was the total of that interaction. Sat down (there were 3 of us), someone made the coffee while we listened to the others congratulating her on her slightly improved coffee making skills (!?) then they dumped the coffees on the counter. Didn’t tell us they were ready, didn’t bring them to the table even though there were five of them ‘working’, there were no other customers so pretty clearly ours. After listening to their loud banter for a couple of minutes we decided to leave, out of politeness on the way out I said ‘thank-you’ to the one male amongst the staff and was met with a completely vacant stare....

My husband and I just finished the 2 hour "Become Your Own Barista" package at Coffee Traders - It was so much fun! Ashton was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. We learned so much, including getting the correct recipe of grind size and tamping pressure for the optimum volume of coffee and best taste. We didn't know that this varies according to the bean. We tasted a rainbow pour, learned what a good crema looked like, practiced perfecting the milk froth and even started with some coffee art. The perfect beginning for some fun experimenting at home. Thanks Ashton and Coffee Traders!

A little treasure of coffee delights tucked around the corner from the busy throng of Morninton's main strip. Festooned with ivy, white tables out front, with the best long black coffee I've had for ages. And served with a little jug of hot water to adjust for taste (didn't need it), a tasty pastrymorsel and a fizzy water palate-cleanser. Sooo good, had another. Barrista and servers so friendly too. Bought a bag of the Ethiopian Buliye Natural coffee beans that made my long black so exceptional. If you like coffee, visit!

Delicious cold brew, nice and fruity with good acidity, just very disappointed by the serving. As you can see from the photo it was served in a tapered glass with a huge amount of ice. I should have said something, but didn't want to sound like a saddo. But I left there realising I'd paid $5.10 for about 100ml of coffee which left a sour taste. Such as shame because it seems like a great specialist coffee shop.
