Disgraceful Disregard for Religious Beliefs – Utterly Unacceptable Experience at Delhi Nights
I am beyond appalled and deeply hurt by the utterly deplorable experience I had with Delhi Nights. As someone who strictly adheres to a satvic diet due to my religious beliefs, I specifically chose this restaurant because they claim to cater to no-onion, no-garlic preferences. I ordered the Methi Matar Malai, explicitly confirming with the staff—twice—that it would be prepared without onions or garlic to respect my dietary restrictions. They assured me with confidence that my request would be honored.
To my absolute horror, when I got home and began eating, I found pieces of onion in the dish. This was not a minor oversight; it was a blatant betrayal of trust and a direct violation of my religious principles. The heartbreak and distress caused by this careless disregard for my clearly communicated needs cannot be overstated. It is utterly unacceptable for a restaurant that markets itself as accommodating specific dietary requirements to fail so spectacularly in delivering on that promise.
This incident reflects a shocking lack of respect, competence, and accountability from Delhi Nights. If you cannot ensure that your food aligns with the dietary restrictions you claim to support, you have no business making such promises to customers. This was not just a meal ruined—it was a profound disrespect to my faith and values. I will never return to this establishment, and I strongly urge others who rely on strict dietary adherence to avoid Delhi Nights at all costs. Shame on you for such negligence and for causing such...
Read moreEDIT: After 2 days, the restaurant manager spoke with me and expplained how regretful they felt by this mistake and that the assistant chef girl was crying because of the mixup. We conveyed our Understanding and forgiveness to the chef through the manager for hurting our sentiments earlier. Lastly the manager offered a partial refund of $15 for the paneer dish from our order and we accepted. Moving on now!
Original review: Been eating here for 4 years and alway appreciated them but today they did something so horrible that we won't be going there again.
Ordered paneer chilli, halfway through i had a piece of chicken in my mouth. Totally shocking the whole dish was full of bits of chicken and this large chunk in the photo.
Called them up and complained and ridiculed them regarding this nonsense. How could such cross contamination occur if their kitchen standards were good enough?
They offered full refund, apology and replacement. But we refused and stressed on the issue of how devastated we felt as this contamination breached our very right to have a dietary choice of vegetarianism ( that actually breached the right to equality). And hey, we are not at all over-reacting. People who are strict vegetarian would know how it feels. We are sane enough to realise that there is no recourse to this damage that was done by them. And we just realised that how easy it is to get cross contamination at such restaurants.
I am not sure if this review and complaint would practically change any...
Read moreHighly Disappointed
I bought 3 dishes, a Butter Chicken, a Chicken Korma and a Lamb Rogan Josh and 2 garlic naan bread at each totalling about $59, for takeaway.
I get to the car and notice there was no rice so I go back and ask the staff if rice came with the dishes as most places would give a serving of rice to eat with the curry and the staff told me no that rice was not included and that rice was n extra $7 per serve which was after paying $59 for 3 curries and 2 garlic naan, I obviously bought 2 serves to eat with the food as I was not going to cook rice at home which defeated the purpose of getting takeaway that night.
$73 later with 3 Currys 2 naan n 2 rice, I was disappointed, the butter chicken and korma tasted the same and were the same colour the only difference was that the korma had chopped cashew nuts in it, I feel like the Curry's were all made with the same base sauce so they all tasted the same, the lamb was tough n chewy and the staff were not helpful at all and when I first ordered it took 10 mins for someone to tell me where to pay, the girl was frantic and asking her colleagues for help and almost ignored her, I had high hopes for this place from a friend but was let down. I have eaten at alot of places around the world and would not recommend this...
