This is the best buffet breakfast we've ever had!! Next comes Deer Valley Canada and Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour. Never seen such quality, quantity or variety, replenished as regularly, even a chef making omelets on demand, plus barista made coffees for no extra charge! (no other place we've been to does this) and adequate offerings for those who are Gluten Free.. white bread, a separate toaster, yummy chocolate muffins, muesli and rice flakes. Would like to see wholemeal bread at least. Best for Variety : fresh fruit- rockmelon or canteloupe, Honeydew, Watermelon, peaches pears apricots nectarines, tinned fruit, dried fruit and nuts so you can make up your own muesli, a variety of Asian food like Dim Sims Congi, noodles etc; various cereals, a limited range of milk, skim, full cream, almond (funny they don't have soy but it's at the teas and coffees), still & sparkling water, various juices (there's even a machine where you can grind up your own!!) massive array of cakes and pastries, breads, a salad/cheese/cold meats offering plus lots more. Get breakfast in your package!! You won't regret it!! The waitresses were so friendly, helpful, kind and persistent in tending to your needs, especially Jennifer who welcomed us like we were at her place. Some observations I would make are: The Asian dishes were placed too high for the average height of the Asian people and for younger persons. They need to be lower so that they can see into the containers and serve Safely. Another was when the chef serves you your omelette your paper order form was placed underneath touching the egg...I don't think this is particularly hygienic. Still the best ordering system weve ever seen - fresh as fresh, you don't get your omelette stolen, you get what you asked for, its delivered right to you and you don't have to wait in line for it. Sorry I wasn't well enough to really savour the...
Read moreStepping back to the 90s was not something I planned on a Wednesday night. It was definitely memorable. We ordered a panzanella salad which had what looked like sliced cheap olives, dots of goats creamy cheese , tiny baby tomatoes and tiny tiny cubes of bread with a succulent garnish. I clearly had a more rustic version in my head. The potatoes were meh and according to my friend, her octopus was okay. I had the bavette….medium rare…it was cold no sear. Had they sou vide the meat and just pulled it out of the bag? It reminded me of a venison there was no medium rare it was a deep dark red purple. Did I have mixed feelings about it? Most definitely. There was a myriad of vegetables and a gremolata lump situation which was quite nice although it was an artfully disguised lump( under another succulent garnish…yes an actual succulent) they used an onion half to hold some cream sauce. And like some carrot and a turnip mash. I’m unsure of the flavour pairings. The plate looked like it would be at home on a Melrose place episode when they were out to dinner(did they eat in that show?). Clearly I’m disgruntled having had a days worth of lacklustre food but this meal just tipped it over the edge. We ordered a late salad - whitlof and radicchio that saved us it was fantastic generous with the Parmesan shaving beautifully balanced 4.5 stars for that dish. The drinks were very decent. Service was decent and they tried their best. It was a busy night just wish I had a...
Read moreMy flatmate, Kim and I were on our way to the Plenary Theatre to see the mighty Neil Degrasse Tyson, and needed a place to eat before the show. The online booking was made easily and with prompt confirmation. The first red flag arose when it was looking like we'd be 5 or 10 minutes late for our 6pm booking, so I tried to call... no answer. Without feeling too deterred with rushed over as quick as we could, and found the venue with ease. The first door was locked. Lights were on, staff were there and small tables of patrons were peppered around inside. We thought we were at a back or side door, so we walked around the building until we found another glass door at the other end.. which was also locked. We stood, staring in at the staff who seemingly couldn't see nor hear us rattling the door, trying to call in to the restaurant. No one who I could see were reacting to a phone ringing. No one so much as glanced in our direction. At no point did I receive a call or email asking if we were still intending to attend our booking. And this restaurant was not busy. If the capacity was approx 100, they may have had 8 to 12 people...
