Dominos Ashburton in Vic, Australia closes at midnight on Thursdays. At 23:43pm, called the store twice, nobody picked up. Reached there around 23:50pm and asked if i could place an order for pick up, one of the value range pizzas. Team member 1 said no they're closing soon, and went to ask team member 2 if the pizza can be made. Team member 2 said no he cannot guarantee that the pizza would be made to the best quality due to a problem with the base or oven, he didn't really explain well. Told him i called the store 10 minutes earlier to place an order and nobody picked up. Team member 2 had no reply, said sorry with a supposedly dejected face.
You can feel they didn't want to make the pizza, they probably had a busy and tiring day and wanted to go home and be comfortable. This is what often happens in fast food stores in general, the late orders are not welcomed. Kid did not know, i work in the fast food industry myself for years, including another privately owned pizza shop. Others might be fooled by certain behaviours at the end of the night, not me sorry. Kid thought he would get away with it, he didn't know he was speaking to an experienced kid.
Immediately called Dominos Mount Waverley, placed my order, drove there and got my 5 dollars value range pizza. To the management of Dominos, i don't blame those guys working hard all night and be mentally unprepared for late orders, it's probably a human attitude. However this is a mental aspect of work that if done properly, can do wonders.
From a customer who had only 5 dollars to spend and carefully chose to order a value range pizza from a Dominos store, which is near my residence, would eventually lead to total satisfaction in terms of food quality, quantity, and price, but it's upto you to think about the service in the last 20 minutes to closure of a store at night. How did Mount Waverley's store accept the order then?
I personally do not believe that the base or oven was an issue, i'm talking from experience as you've read above. And I'm used to ordering value range pizzas around the same time on the same day each week from Ashburton's store, never got such an issue from the team members. Amazingly, the team members are the same guys i encounter nearly every Thursday night when ordering the value range pizza.
In terms of ordering late, i guess everybody can complain about it but each and every one of us knows that every human's circumstances are not the same. Anyways, good luck.
Though Dominos is huge and small issues involving a 5 dollar pizza is not material enough, improving small details is what makes a business prove to its customers that it might not be perfect but is hungry to be better - Dominoes message on the pizza box.

Read moreWorst experience ever. Would like to leave a negative star but can't. Took my son there Friday night to order a couple of pizzas (thought id would be quicker than a phone order, what a mistake that was!!!) Got there at 7pm ordered, in between the "child" taking my order was talking to his other colleagues, had to repeat myself a couple of times. Got told 10-15mins which was fine. Half n hour later asked how long? Got told 4mins. 40mins later when again i asked where is my order only to find out it hadn't been put through. Even other customers in the shop were commenting i have been waiting longer than anyone else in there. Got my order nearly 50mins later n the apology was "would u like a free drink?" Only reason i didn't express my disgust was there were other children in the shop at the time and didn't wont to frighten them. After being a loyal local customer for many years will never go there again. Would rather go to Crust. It's run by 12yr old children who have no idea how to run a buisness or have any customer skills. Very rude, poor service n should not be dealing with people, they should be packing boxes in a factory....
Read moreOrdered a pizza via delivery 25/11/23 Gave express instructions for the delivery person not to ring the doorbell. Doorbell was rung and a household of sleeping kids woken up. I'll post videos online if the store owner doesn't respond as requested (via phone on the night). Video does not paint a great picture. NB - Pizza was average...didn't suffer well from being thrown after delivery instructions were clearly read and realised by delivery person.
In addition to this, and so horribly ironic, same delivery driver/rider on e bike seen riding on footpath in same street today 01/12/23 riding on footpath at 30+ km/h to avoid traffic . Will upload dash cam footage of that incident and home security camera footage now of 25/11/23. Store manager ill equipped to manage situation after phone call it would seem
Suggest Dominos corporate address as didn’t get impression local store manager really understood the gravity of...
