If you were to ask me what pizza chain I would opt for, this would be my choice. As someone who grew up in the (wonderful) era where dining in and all you can eat were offered at Pizza Hut (which was almost one fully sized restaurant per suburb) in what was a golden age, my loyalty to the aforementioned was bone deep entering my late teens and 20s. Cue moving to Pakenham where Pizza Hut had evolved into what it is currently (but had no local location at the time) and Domino's started to edge into my occasional rotation (and my heart). As one who prefers a more family-owned, mostly traditional pizza store offering, a big portion of what sealed this deal was a Coeliac diagnosis. Domino's not only offer GF bases, but they aren't the soggy, sad pile of misery that a lot of other places offer (if they offer at all), and children who enjoy it. Particularly two boys who, at 6, were already justifying pizzas to themselves and the value range allowed me to get them both a large for 10 dollars. I have heard Domino's committed to becoming the market leader in the States to edge out Pizza Hut, but that has been steadily happening here before anywhere else. Sure, it could be argued that it is what it is and lumped with the other best known fast food establishments and are mid at best, but some of the pizzas on their menu really hit the spot and can't be found anywhere else. There is little that can beat it when that specific mood hits and the fact that they often have a gf dessert or two doesn't hurt either. Honestly, the biggest compliment I could probably offer is I ordered from (the now local) Pizza Hut recently and found the gf pizza I ordered to be the most abominable one I've tried yet. I refused to eat more than a slice (and I was the level of drunk that sees one eat just about anything) and then did what I should have in the first place and ordered from Domino's. I would suggest doing a pick-up order if possible and be wary if certain surcharges if you are really playing the counting pennies game we all have to occasionally, but outside of that, they get the job done. As someone who (pre-daignosis) had pizza in Italy, I had worse in Rome than some of the pizzas here. Nothing better than in Germany though (sorry everyone except the German pizza chain), so you could definitely get...
Read moreWe ordered one of the new Chicken and Avocado Meltz here and my daughter looked at it before we left and noticed it was bacon and cheese. So we went back in and explained we clearly had been given the wrong Meltz. Simple right? Apparently not. They had the nerve to get a pair of tongs and open the meltz and point to a tiny piece of chicken under the bacon and insist it actually came with bacon and nothing was wrong with it. My daughter was upset but confused (they did gaslight her after all) but when we got home we looked it up and sure enough the Chicken and Avocado has no bacon in it at all. In fact, it looks entirely different to the one we received. There wasnât even any avocado in the one we were given. I called up and told them about it & expressed my disappointment that they not only got it wrong but gaslit my daughter into thinking she was in the wrong. The guy didnât apologise, claimed heâd never heard of us (we were in there 5 mins earlier) , kept asking me to spell our name repeatedly, saying âno recordâ (we we even saw our name on the screen when we came in and pointed to it, such a liar) and clearly was avoiding acknowledgment or any kind of compensation. Unbelievable. He kept on this way until I ended the call. Will be contacting head office. Pizzas were average at best but this experience was terrible! Thatâs no way to treat your customers and youâll keep losing them until you change your attitude and do the...
Read moreToday 19/3/2024 we bought 8 pizzas and 1 bbq beef MELTZ.DOUGH on ALL pizzas way too thick, like eating a bread roll but doughy. Meatlovers coated in too much bbq sauce made it too sickening, something didn't taste right, my daughter got tummy pains after eating it. I don't know if they've changed the tomato base sauce on all other pizzas but it tasted like tinned tomatoes.DISGUSTING THE WHOLE LOT!!!.I'm a regular customer who buys in big quantities but I'll be going elsewhere next time, that's a promise! We've noticed the last few months Domino's Pakenham have gone downhill with their pizzas! Note: I don't recommend the Meltz it's too sickening, not nice at all.
**Response to Domino's: I've told you in my review what the problem with your so called "food/pizzas" was, now get your act together and do better! Improve your pizza's, they vary from order to order, you don't know what you're gonna get quality wise! But you've lost me...
