Let me preface this by saying this is a review of their takeaway service. Previously we had dined in and found everything great - thus why we thought we'd try takeaway. After trying takeaway I won't ever be going back. What we ordered: - vegetarian Singapore noodles - curried scallops - sweet and sour pork - chicken wings - spring rolls - rice What we received: - Singapore noodles with pork - curried scallops - lukewarm sweet and sour pork - chicken wings that were fridge-cold in the middle - spring rolls that were fridge-cold in the middle - no rice We realised the food had probably been microwaved and not cooked properly, so we stopped eating the curried scallops and sweet and sour pork (I'll admit we tucked in to the pork before we tried the rest so didn't realise it was likely undercooked) I called the restaurant and explained there were some issues with the order, they asked me to come back in. I took with me everything we hadn't eaten minus the food we'd put into our plates (thinking it would be ridiculous to pour it back in.. especially with covid?) When we got there they said that they cooked the food fresh for us... I don't see how given how the middle of most of the food wasn't hot, it was like it had been stored in the fridge and badly heated. They then refused to give us a full refund because we had brought back containers that weren't completely full. I said I wanted a full given we obviously weren't going to keep eating any of the food once we had realised how badly cooked certain things were. They wouldn't budge and in the end refused to give us a refund for the curried scallops or pork. (How are you supposed to know whether the food is good or not unless you taste it first??) Attached is a photo of the pork and curried scallops. (Not as bad of an issue but the curried scallops were also quite bland and watery, and the rice is from a packet we had to cook at home) They were completely unapologetic about it all and I won't be going back there. I would advise staying well away from the takeaway, or if you do risk it make sure to thoroughly inspect everything first before digging in!

AMAZING value!!! What you can get for the price is just awesome!! For just $33, we got a sizzling plate of Mongolian steak, a plate of honey chicken and a plate of Singapore noodles!!!! The sauce the Mongolian steak came with was simply delicious and that dish was a pleasure to eat. The staff were all really friendly and great to deal with too. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the honey chicken was nothing special and the Singapore noodles themselves were quite bland - but then again, that could just be due to my tastes and what I enjoy. We'll definitely be back to try some of their other dishes!! DEFINITELY the best value Chinese in the area!

Great old school Aussie Chinese joint which I have been craving ever since I’ve moved to Melbourne. The very first moment I went in, I knew that it was going to hit the spot - the faded menus, the sound of sizzling hot plates, the landlines ringing nonstop for takeaway orders. Everything just felt right. We ordered some classic dishes that hit the nostalgia tastebuds and I have to say the highlight was the sweet and sour pork - amazing batter and tasty sauce. Would recommend anyone in or out of the area to give this a shot as it’s amazing, tasty, good-value grub 🤤

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, Dragon Express Chinese Restaurant is a must-visit! My recent dinner for two there was nothing short of amazing and never break your bank! It's affordable to dine here at the current living economy could blow your mind.

We started our meal with the steamed Dim Sum, and Combination Soup, which included prawns, mushrooms, and barbecue pork mince. The flavours were a perfect blend, and each bite was incredibly satisfying.

For the main course, we shared the Szechuan Steak, Dragon Express Combination, and Thai Fried Rice. Each dish was cooked to perfection, bursting with rich and authentic flavours. The Szechuan Steak was particularly impressive, with a perfect balance of spice and tenderness. The Dragon Express Combination was a delightful mix of different ingredients, each contributing to a harmonious and delicious dish. The Thai Fried Rice adding a wonderful texture and flavour to our meal.

Overall, everything at Dragon Express Chinese Restaurant was great. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommend for anyone craving some delicious...

A great eating experience from the first step-in. Walk-in to a beautifully traditionally Asian decorated restaurant. Smelling like spice and All things nice. Staff are welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Waiting for my meal is devine torture. Saliva dripping, I bask in the sounds of bustle and laughter in the hidden kitchen. Service is excellent - I feel like royalty. When my meal arrives it is everything it promised to be and more - Presentation is perfect (almost a shame to eat it), Meats are succulent, juicy, Veggies are crisp, fresh, Sauces are perfectly balanced. Most flavorsome and tasteful cuisine in all of Sunshine. Kudos to the chef. This chef makes Food for Kings; Yet feeds beggars (like me). I like them. I don't feel the weight of any of this delicious food, but I can't eat even one more mouthful. In the following months I order home delivery and find their service is Speedy & First Class and Food tastes exactly the same as what I was served in the restaurant. I recommend this gem of an eatery to anyone looking for a great feed for a...
