Panjali Malaysian Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

This is my review after avoiding this restaurant for a year. As I entered the restaurant the bain marie is light was switch on and shortly later switched off. I requested for the menu and ordered roti canai and teh tarik, the waiter came saying the don't have roti canai, I changed my order to nasi lemak, shortly, after a while she came back saying nasi lemak sold out and roti canai is available. You have more than 30-40 items on the menu, my guess half is not available. Ordered roti canai+ teh tarik to dine in+ 2 sets for takeaway. Roti canai for dine came out after 35 min. I was the only customer waiting to be served for a shop with capacity of 20+ seating. Then I finish my roti canai slightly undercooked. And asked again where is my teh tarik, the waiter replied it will take longer. Malaysian tradition drink must be served before food. In between the waiter was checking the kitchen manned by the owner, I can hear loud and clear that the owner mentioned to the waiter, "I will fire you don't push me" At the same another family group came and ordered roti canai+ roti telor. After a while my takeaway order roti canai and teh tarik was not served instead the family was served with roti canai. I waited patiently and after almost 1 hours still not getting my teh tarik and I requested to cancel my order then all of sudden the owner came out and prepared the teh tarik. I asked why my order for takeaway is not prepared after 1 hours? The waiter mentioned that they need to serve customer for dine in. I mentioned to her their customer service so pathetic. She replied that 2 staff didn't turn to work today. So I asked then why the shop was open if you are not ready to serve the customer?.and willing to compromise service and food quality. I wonder who prepared bain marie items about 10+ items and whether these freshly prepared or leftover from yesterday. Not a good dining experience! Still a bad experience after one year. We were there about 1.30pm today. When we tried ordering, we were told that most of the food on the menu was unavailable. The young lady taking our order went off to check with the owner whenever we tried ordering something else. After about 10 minutes of this, she finally came back and told us that only rice and curries were available. Nasi Lemak sets were sold out. When the food came, it was at room temperature and that included the rice. The young lady serving the vegetables used the same spoon for all three different sides. The food tasted average. The curried fish and sambal chicken were disappointing too. We had to wait other 30 minutes for the butter chicken to arrive and my children declared it the worst that they had ever had. It was soupy and there was not even a bit of 'char ' on it. We had ordered two serves but the second order did not arrive and we promptly cancelled it. I feel that there should be a notice on the glass doors and the actual menu to indicate that most things on the menu are available only after 3pm. Alternatively, we should have been told when we were about to be seated. We are definitely not returning. Dosa villas in Glenroy serves great Malaysian Indian food as does Malaysian Kampong Restaurant (MKR)...

Been going there for more than year, but recent experience was bad! The owner is forgetful of the order despite writing it down and start blaming the kitchen staff for her own fault in communicating. The previous chef and kitchen helper left the restaurant because of her treatment. Food quality is worse, some of food is not freshly cooked reheated for couple of days, egg served shrunk since it was left out on Bain Marie for long,Fish vege curry taste awful since left - more than a day on display, vege came out freezer,a ordered nasi goreng Kampung which came out salty, when we told the owner, she simply said it meant to be salty,she refuse to change, banana rice top up are charged extra, I wonder if the owner actually came from from Malaysia.
