Eden Rise Charcoal Chicken — Restaurant in Melbourne

I order here on a regular basis and have always loved their food. The lady and gentleman (I’m assuming owners) are always efficient. However when you call 20 mins before they close to order a simple chicken and chips and told no.. Young girl: Sorry we are not taking any more orders: Me: Whys that? You don’t close for another 20mins. Young girl: We are closing early. Me: Why’s that? Young girl: I don’t know why Me: I don’t understand, your website says you don’t close for 20 mins Young girl: Our boss isn’t here. Me: so who said you can close early? Young girl: I don’t know. Me: Who’s in charge? Young girl: I don’t know. Me: So you are a chicken and chips shop but won’t sell any to me. Young girl: we have chickens but are not doing chips or orders because we are closing early. Me: is there a good reason as to why you are closing early without your boss knowing. Young girl: I don’t know… oh actually we have no chips. Me: all of a sudden? Young girl: hopefully we get some tomorrow. Now please tell me how any of that makes sense? Why even answer the phone in the first place? Very disappointing and extremely poor...

I ordered a large Greek salad and chips. The young girl who was serving the salad was lovely. I noted she was serving the salad from the bottom, which was soggy, full of tomatoes and nothing much else. I requested that she adds some salad from the top as well, which she did. But the lady (who I assume is the owner) quickly intervened and took the tub from the girl and asked me what I wanted. I told its ok, I got what I wanted, and was just waiting for the chips She promptly put back the contents of from the tub and said the girls should have mixed it up. She proceeded to "mix" it up but very cleverly ensured I still got a soggy tub with 3/4 full of tomatoes, a few cucumbers and not much else. They cleverly decorate the fetta etc in top, but do not serve it up fairly. If I was not tired after a hard day, I would have asked for my money back because that woman's attitude was not good at all. Definitely not going...

Not one to review but reading other reviews made me do it. Today was my 3rd visit in 3 years, coles had no chickens left, I went here and got the 1/2 charcoal pack for me and the kids (half chicken obviously and 2 sides, chips and pasta salad) Service was very good from taking the order to receiving it. Smelt awesome on the drive home so I had a few chips to keep me happy. On the bench it goes for the kids " help yourselves ". Thanks for dinner dad, they loved it. But my 1 thing is over my 3rd visit is the salads option is way to bland, not much happening on the taste buds, I have a few critics ( the kids and myself ) over the past and its the same, coles and woolies is better. That's the pasta salad, seafood salad and potato salad. Chicken Is awesome, chips and service 👌 Please...
