Haven’t dined here in years. It’s clearly popular however I can I only review in my own experience. The place is overrun by kids, that’s ok, it’s a family hotel and I suspect that’s why it’s so popular. I require gluten free food and there was a sign at entrance about gluten free menu. I asked the guy who seated us and he said it’s all on the menu he left with us. There was no intro as whether to order via the queue near the kitchen or order online. We ordered online after watching the queue not clear for a very long time (again understandable for a busy Saturday). Menu marked GFO for those requiring GF. When ordering online there is nowhere to indicate it needs to be GF. Not good enough for a place they advertised they offer GF. I had to ask a very frazzled waitress if the gravy’s x 3 on menu are gf. She said yes then said are you Coelic and I said yes and she said we need to say may contain traces. Why would gluten free gravy contain traces for goodness sake. I went with the pepper gravy sauce. Partner had chicken schnitzel. Schnitzel arrived approx 15 mins before my steak arrived. We both bored her veges were cold and the checking was warm only. Obviously been sitting for a bit even though they have heat lamps? My steak arrived finally. No steak knife, no pepper sauce. Asked the waiter and watched him go back to kitchen after he stated he would get it. The manager at the pass clearly ignored him requesting my gravy as they just threw more plates at him which he went off to deliver. I walked up to counter and waited 5 minutes until one of probably 5 people stood around ignoring the counter. Asked for steak knife which there was a basket of steak knives behind counter. Wasn’t wrapped I a cloth or anything. They finally slapped a scoop of gravy into a cup and handed it to me dripping gravy down the side. I walked back to my table with an exposed steak knife and bowl of gravy dripping over the floor. In a place with kids running around, an exposed steak knife isn’t good in any circumstances. For a place that advises gluten free, I was unwell afterwards and can only pin point it to either the fries that weee a side to my steak or gravy. Won’t be back. The service was poor. In its defence, there was a such a large crowd of people the kitchen was slammed and they seemed to be getting the meals out. As I said can only review in my experience which wasn’t pleasant. Perhaps it was just a bad night. On a positive, I am glad it appears to be a thriving business, just a bit more care with staff and food may take it to...
Read moreMy family and friends attended Edwardes Lake Hotel on Saturday night 12/10 to celebrate my sons 21st birthday. to start it took me 3 attempts to try making a booking.and I finally got onto the manager to confirm and pay a deposit, in which I gave my email address for a confirmation and receipt ..3 weeks later no email so I had to call again to confirm and ask for my receipt of deposit. the lady I spoke to was really lovely, and explained how the deposit works,.you don't get your money back if all people don't turn up. you need to give exact number of people before your booking..I was not told of this when I spoke to the manager. luckily I called and got the right information. we did have a lovely time, everyone was happy with their food but sadly my car was broken into. someone had smashed my car window. please be aware of the car park behind the establishment, there are no survlance cameras. when we arrived the car park was full, so I had to park at the back, which there were plenty of cars. when I got back to my car around 10.30 pm is when I found my car window had smashed, and called the police. my sister had gone back into the restaurant, and spoke to I believe it was the manager. he had told her he knew that a car window had been smashed as he was walking around the car park earlier..WHY DID HE NOT REPORT THIS!!! He knew the model of the car but could have alerted someone and could have asked for the owner of the car to come to the service desk. and apparently it's happened quite a few times before but no security cameras. also what really ticked me off is the no care attitude from the gaming staff when my father went in to ask if we can borrow a broom and shovel or something to sweep the glass away from my seats, as there was glass everywhere and I had to drive home with my children in the car. I called yesterday and spoke with someone and gave my phone number, I was told a would get the manager to call me..yet nothing. I'm truly...
Read moreWhat an absolute hole! If you’re coming here for the kids play area like we did, then this review is for you. Be aware that the car park signage is non existent, so if you made the mistake like we did and followed the only marked entry, you’ll end up on the pokies side of the complex. Now this doesn’t seem like a big deal, however if you’re visiting with children and (god forbid) a pram, you’ll be directed to use the entrance on the other side of the complex by some extremely rude TAB staff. I absolutely now understand why, you wouldn’t want to walk your innocent children past the saddest sight imaginable, elderly people playing pokie machines in this dirty dingy establishment. Now, back to the other “kids” entrance. It’s down a dirty narrow corridor as per the photos that is not pram accessible, and absolutely covered in cigarette butts and bird droppings. The kids play centre is absolutely filthy! Picture five generations of unwashed stains, broken metal chairs and hanging electrical cords make this place not only dangerous, but a potential death trap. In conclusion, if you’re looking for somewhere to bring your children to be entertained for an hour while you try and enjoy and meal, dear god stay away from this place. If however you’re looking to dump your senior citizen family member to spend their life savings on pokie machines in a dank and depressing TAB, then this is the...
