Mountain Bread PTY LTD — Restaurant in Melbourne

Having purchased the Mountain Bread brand for many years, I have twice had a quality issue with their product. The first was in March 2019, where the 'natural' wraps (unopened and well within date) were mouldy and my 3 year old ate some of the bread. Having notified Mountain Bread, their QA Officer came back to me the next day with a series of questions to understand why this issue may have occurred and kept in prompt communication about the quality issue. Without my request, as a gesture of goodwill, she also sent through a number of free products. Thank you Jennifer - Bravo!

Fast forward almost 6 years later, where l discovered a heavy plastic odour & taste after consuming the same product (natural) which was sealed and well within date. After sending two emails to Mountain Bread and following up with two phone calls, the response l received (after 21 days) from Paul, the Senior Quality Assurance Manager was absolutely appalling - encourage you to read the attachment I have included.

In summary, he insinuated that l was a serial complainer who had been placed on "red alert" by their "customer complaints data team", due to the number of complaints that l had made, and that l have "continuously had issues with their brand" - this is because I informed Mountain Bread of x 2 quality issues in 6 years? Further, that l would not be compensated (even though l had not requested to be compensated) and that l should go to the store that l purchase their products from. No mention of what investigation had been undertaken to identify the quality issue.

I've written this review as l want to ensure that existing and potential customer are aware of Mountain Breads ‘red alert’ system and the company response if more than a single genuine quality concern is raised over a six-year period.

Based on this unprofessional response, I am no longer a customer or consumer of any Mountain...
