Great toasties, but the pie needs work
Iām a regular at Falco Collingwood and have tried all the toasties, theyāre consistently delicious, especially the Reuben toastie, which I had again today and thoroughly enjoyed. Full of flavour, perfectly toasted, and always satisfying.
However, I also decided to try the chicken and mushroom pie for a change, and unfortunately, this one let me down. For the $12 price tag, I expected something much more substantial. The filling was runny, lacked flavour, and honestly felt quite empty. It just didnāt match the quality Iāve come to expect from Falco, especially considering the cost.
To the team at Falco: I hope this feedback is taken constructively. I understand pricing pressures, but customers are willing to pay for quality, so long as it aligns with the value. A pie at that price point should deliver on both taste and texture, and sadly, this one missed the mark.
Still a fan of your toasties, but Iāll be sticking with those moving forward unless the pie offering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreArriving into Melbourne after a 16 hour plane trip from the US I had my heart set on some Allpress round the corner. They were shut for the AU Day PH, and bless the lovely folks working at Falco they served up 10/10 coffee and food. I was absolutely gaging for proper Aussie coffee and food as close to homemade as I could get an Falco nailed it. I had 3 piccolos that were just perfect, took away a cauliflower sandwich (having recently become a cauliflower convert) and weird as it sounds it was one of the best sandos I've ever smashed. Bread chewy crunchy ad tasty in all the right places, firm enough to hold the filling, soft enough to deliver joy. Whilst only just resisting the siren call of the fantastic looking pies and sauso rolls, I couldn't resist a choc chip cookie that is freaking delicious with a cup of filter coffee at my hotel a few hours later. Thanks for working on the PH you legends! Worth more than a 15% PH surcharge. Hope to see you again next time I am in...

@alexsfoodieadventues and I visited their second location on Langridge Street, there is no seating so you will have to wander somewhere to eat - alternatively visit their original Smith Street store.
Youāll find a selection of pies, pastries and sandwiches both hot and cold. Couldnāt fault either sandwich! The Tuna Melt was absolutely delicious and seasoned to perfection. The Fresh Chicken Sandwich was on the most divine bread, so fluffy and the best golden crust. š„Ŗ
Coffee is by local roaster Stella Coffee, the Chai was amazing, by Flying High Chai. The selection is not as large as other bakeries Iāve visited, but it seems they have perfected what they...
