We went here on a whim as we were driving past cause it looked good ,it it’s nothing more than that. The staff were friendly, but the food was disappointing, I ordered the poached eggs on toast and paid extra $5-6 EACH for 2 slices of halloumi, handful of mushrooms and a palm sized serving of smashed avo…..there were 2 “slices” of toast but really it was one large slice cut diagonally across so not enough bread, the poached eggs were cooked ok but when I cut it open the yolks were the orangest yolks I have ever seen in my life…probably caged eggs 😐… I still ate it because I was hungry and I just paid over $40 for this plate which you could easily get for $25 elsewhere, not worth your money. The service was slow as they were busy and they asked us if we would like water or sparkling water, my husband asked for sparkling and they brought out 5 bottles but we only opened and used one, they wouldn’t let us return the untouched bottles, she was looking at me as if we were diseased when I asked and said no we can’t take them back just keep them, suits her cause she charged us $16 for those unopened bottles and we had to take them home….if you’re worried about corona then so am I….why is it ok for you to bring out the bottles with your bare hands but it’s not ok for me to hand them back to you??? only customers can spread it yeah?! Anyways my kids got the rainbow pancakes which were doughy on the inside but you know kids being kids it’s colourful and sweet so they ate it all $25 each for that….my husbands smoothie bowl was disappointing and he was left hungry because it was a tiny serving in a half polished coconut….that small! He seemed to enjoy his almond latte cause he had 2 of them. So yeah after over $180 and left disappointed we can safely say we won’t be back and we won’t be recommending to friends, I’ve been to nicer more casual places that serve better food at more affordable prices….don’t waste your...
Read moreHi I don’t normally write views, but I thought I would write this to warn people before coming to this restaurant.
Atmosphere and photos look great on Instagram but that’s when it stops
The food was terrible. You pay so much money for bad quality food.
The alcohol had literally no alcohol in it and ended up being $30 because the fairy floss is not free. It’s $8 dollars on top of the cocktail.
We ordered a cocktail that was supposed to have Nutella in it, but basically it was just coffee no Nutella no alcohol
The staff are quite smart up selling this because they did not tell anyone about the upgrade. They just said would you like to add fairy floss.
On top of that Sundays is a surcharge of $29 so it ended up being 300 and something
Also, an item on the menu was completely different to the item that was on the Receipt.
If we didn’t doublecheck the receipt we would’ve paid a dollar more and when we mentioned this to the waitress all she said was I’ll let them know instead of changing it straight away apologising Giving us a new one.
We had to mention to her a few times for her to change the receipt because the numbers weren’t adding up
When we were waiting for food if you’re in the group food is supposed to come all in one yet they were about 10 to 15 minutes apart considering there was four chefs in the kitchen. Why is the service so slow
We couldn’t eat as a group as we had to wait for each individual food to come
On top of that the staff are not very attentive. We had to wave and give attention for them to come to our table to order Food.
Overall aesthetic wise very good
Food for brunch, very bad
Cocktails, very bad
I would recommend only going here for deserts and coffee, but cocktails and brunch be aware and...
Read moreI went to Fika Moonee ponds a few months ago with my partner. My partner is been there a few times before exept for myself. When we walked in we were booked into the system by a waitress, showed our seats and menu. When I read the menu I didn't see any of the classic breakfast I normally go for such Atlantic Breakfast. Everything on the menu has an unusual and creative spin to it, Which isn't good for a person like me, that likes the classic breakfasts on menus.
We are big fans of coffee, so we ordered almond cappuccino in a mug and the waitress bought out a cup size almond cap. We called her again to ask why It had not been put in a mug . And she argued with us that it was a mug trying to gaslight us when the size was a cup. My partner teaches English so she clearly knows the difference between a mug and a cup. My partner insisted it was not a mug as she has worked in hospitality in the past and knows the difference between a cup in a mug for that recent as well. The waitress kept on arguing with us, till we told her it isn't a mug for the third time, but then ask her for another coffee because it was not enough.
My partner noticed that the owner was not there that day, The waiter and waitress were chatting with each other hanging out by the coffee machine for a lot of the service.
When we went to pay, none of the staff members asked us how the food was, Whether we like it or not.
I am extremely disappointed i'm never coming here ever again. As I write this, I'm enjoying my almond cappuccino in a Mug at another cafe nearby...
