I got to know this cafe thanks to a 2-day business trip down busy Cheltenham/Moorabbin Business Park. I appreciate the warm hospitality and cosy ambience of this cafe but I gotta say the food is well below average, especially when it is quite close to exciting Springvale filled with great authentic Vietnamese eateries. My first order was 'Toss Diced Beef with Rice', something went wrong in the kitchen and 'Toss Diced Pork with Rice' was sent out. I figured it out after the second bite and let staff member know. One of staff member apologized and offer a different dish due to shortage of beef. OK, I went on to 'Grilled Chicken with Rice'. It was edible but I felt like I was eating 5 year-old chicken meat. The coffee is simply divine. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly brewed. We also had the pleasure of trying their fried calamari salad & grilled teriyaki salmon on rice, and absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor.

Read moreI definitely had a good day thanks to G'day Cafe. Honest to goodness Vietnamese food, with a variety of options to choose from.
The roast pork banh mi was a winner for me. Soft yet crackly baguette, filled with fresh veggies and juicy and crunchy roast pork. Well-seasoned, balanced in flavour and all round excellent execution.
The grilled pork with egg on rice was delicious as well. The aromatic flavours, and the pork was cooked very well. The lemon grass beef vermicelli salad was light and refreshing on the palate, with a bright and clean favour from the lemon grass.
The drinks were on the sweeter end of the spectrum. Even after diluting them with water, it was still quite sweet. Not a big deal as I get more bang for my...
