I have stayed here twice and wonāt be back. Make sure you bring your own coffee and teabags and donāt expect room servicing or fresh towels. I did however find someoneās feral sock underneath the foot of my bed the first time and this time it was a dog biscuit! Iām also amazed that in this day and age they do not offer Wi-fi. They have been understaffed during both stays and I had to chase someone down in the pokie area to check in. The first stay was unremarkable but this time has been very disappointing. I stayed for three nights for a local sporting event. I ordered a meal in the restaurant - they brought out the incorrect dish and instead of being apologetic the young waiter accused me of ordering the wrong thing - mate, I donāt eat the food you brought out why would I order it? (the girl behind the bar had obviously made an error). He was patronising and argumentative and I was made to feel like a fool. Customer service is not hard, just be respectful. Our group of 8 women (who were also staying in the hotel for the second time and had spent $$$ on food and drInks) played a board game in the bar as the rooms are tiny. We had to move to another area within the venue after that bar closed (not before they sold us bottles of wine 10 minutes before closing and then told us we couldnāt take them out of the bar š). We continued our game at a different bar in the venue and were laughing (thatās right, LAUGHING) and chatting when a barman named Ali rudely told us āyou are being too noisy, people playing the pokies are paying customers and are here for peace and quietā (he was quite aggressive and seemed to be on some sort of power trip). What the? Has he heard the noise that comes out of a poker machine? How dare we make noise in a public bar and interrupt your efforts to strip people of their money via gambling? Itās not a meditation retreat, itās a bar! When my friend pointed out that we too are paying customers she was referred to as a āsmart arseā by one of the staff. This place would do well to remember they service a diverse group of patrons and if they want return business they need to cater to all not just the people funnelling their hard earned cash into the pokies. Needless to say we had to leave the bar and return to our rooms. Very obvious what this place values and my friends I wonāt be back and wonāt be recommending to any of the other players who also attend nearby events. Word of mouth can have significant influence in a sporting community. There are much better options nearby (Quality Inn was terrific for accommodation, lots of other great eateries) especially considering they hiked the price per night up by $45 within the 4 weeks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI read some of the reviews on this property the night before my stay and I was scared out of my wits! I envisaged a filthy, cigarette smoke filled room, and what a pleasant surprise I found when I arrived! The room was a very comfortable standard motel room. Certainly NO cigarette smoke residue. The room was clean and spacious, a double and single bed. TV, wardrobe, little bar fridge, electric jug, tea, coffee and sugar, tiny UHT milk x 4.
The bathroom is also spacious and very clean. No odours or any of the nasty things mentioned in earlier reviews. I swear, this is a completely independent review. We are from WA and needed somewhere to stay near the airport. We were so relieved to have such nice accommodation right next to Tullamarine Airport when we had an early 4.50am start!
There are also a number of service stations nearby that you can use "PETROL SPY" to find the cheapest nearby fuel.
So good to be just a few minutes to the airport! Why people have to be so mean in their reviews is beyond me, when they knowingly booked budget accommodation. I will stay here every time I have a red eye from Melbourne to Perth or to Busselton, from this day forward. Location, staff and management deserve more than the silly, revenge comments mentioned here in earlier reviews. Go pay massive dollars to meet your elevated expectations OR STAY HERE AT THE GLADESTONE PARK HOTEL AND ENJOY GREAT ACCOMMODATION AND...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had dinner here with my wife and a group of friends on Thursday Night 2 weeks ago. We regularly meet at this hotel, at least 6 times per year when we visit Melbourne for the horse sales down the road. This time was very different from the last as we met a lovely girl in the bistro named Allie or Elly. She was only new and is the new food and beverage manager so I can see fantastic thing still to come. The level of service that we received that night was second to none. I actually forgot where I was for a while as it felt like i was in a 5 star hotel. She had a laugh with us all and was just so funny and fantastic but also knew her stuff in regards to wine and recomended the eye fillet steak which was cooked great (Rare). I can't express how fantastic our night was in words. We have been here plenty of times before and I am not one for review sites but this had to be done, I also filled out the review papers and put them in the hotel mention box as well. We had such a great experience and met such an incredible human that my wife has given Elly our personal phone number, address and invited her and her kids to stay with us if she is ever coming our way. Well done to Gladstone Park Hotel for offering great customer service and food we cannon wait to come in next time and to Elly I know we told you on the night but Thank you again you are great at what you do, see you soon. Jameson and...
