Modern Asian can be the best description for this relativity new establishment in Mordialloc. This is a rapidly evolving and trendy area with its funky and hip little nooks springing up all along the strip. Bang Bang delivers a welcome and fresh new genre to the area with the delivery of modern, fresh and a few truly outstanding dishes. Our prawn sliders and sweet chili & ginger eggplant selections we’re definitely worth the choice. Sure the dishes here are deep, rich and sweet, however that’s how we unashamedly like them. The dessert menu is small however I hasten to say very impressive in quality, freshness and presentation. Service here is also good to very good with enough staff hovering around to prevent any ‘waiting’ frustration. Meal and drink prices are a ‘tad’ on the high side, however not so much as to spoil the experience by completely emptying the coffers. I attended Bang Bang as part of a party of four at 6.30pm on a Tuesday night. While I understand that the hospitality industry has been hit hard by staff shortages, unfortunately, the service was so bad that we won’t be returning. We were seated for almost half an hour before we managed to flag down a waitress to ask for water, and to tell her we were ready to order. The food then took over an hour to start coming out (in very staggered intervals), with some items forgotten completely and mistakes made with our order. We had to constantly get the attention of each waitress to advise them of errors, and in some cases, they promised to check with the kitchen on missing items but never returned.
