Left disappointed today , had lunch with 6 people today (2 family’s of 3 ) we had the pleasure of sitting in the terrace. Views were fantastic, staff were okay but certainly not overly welcoming. Ordered entrees ,drinks & mains service was about 30 mins + for entrees , mains about an hour after ordering. Issues started when ordering 2 scotch fillet steaks , a family member couldn’t have onions, so we opted to have them removed and were told the onions were a base to the potato’s , so we removed the onions / potatoes and ordered a side of chips and broccolini because there was no other options, they couldn’t add anything else to the meal, no salad , no vegetables.. it was as is or nothing. The meals come out , we receive just scotch fillets on each plate .. 1 was only meant to have nothing with it . My meal was ordered as normal no items meant to be removed,I was then advised that they had run out of potatoes .. so for $55 all I received was a steak on a plate on its own.. feeling thankful that I ordered a side of broccolini & chips however they were originally for the other family member, there were no apologies from staff , no information provided when first ordering, no here’s a side of this to make up for it .. nothing , if I was advised that the steak only came with just the steak I would have opted for another meal .they forgot simple things like garlic butter to , had to also ask for that . When mentioning to staff that I was not impressed that just a steak arrived on its own , I was told they would remove the side of chips off the bill ..$11 was taken off & we paid $110 for just to steaks on there own ? Extremely disappointed to say the least , I asked for the steaks to be cooked 1 Rare & the other well done - the rare was medium well with a touch of pink . The well done the same .
Other members seem to enjoy their meals for the most part , however most plates were left half eaten the over all quality of the food for the price you pay is beyond terrible . Drinks & mocktails were great . As our first time visiting The bridge we had high expectations due to hearing nothing but great things . However we will not be returning 6 people $435 ..staff lack of communication & over all customer service. As somebody who works in the hospitality industries I was extremely disappointed & let down by just about everything apart from the view .. I would have even taken a smile on our way out but no not even that . Won’t...
Read moreLex and I finally made it out for a feed! Our usual arrangement is to just say we will, then get caught up in the misadventures of life and forget we'd made plans or not had the time to enact them. (Yes, I know it's usually my fault..) Our visit to The Bridge Hotel was a success, but even then, it's a wonder it went ahead. In the preceding 24 hours, I'd flown back to sunny Melbourne and had a very hectic schedule that involved a lot of alcohol and practically no sleep. I'd endured a business restructuring that has pushed me almost over the tipping point to move permanently to Vanuatu and been mauled by Nala, the friendly looking but not so friendly protector of Lex's home and sanity. I needed a steak. I was in luck. Proudly emblazoned upon the menu was a 600g black Angus rump. I was ready to order, but Lex was stuck on deciding between pretty much everything on the menu and specials board. To be fair, it all looked pretty good. After what felt like 9 business days, she had settled with the prawn spaghetti! We immediately ordered before she could return to indecision, and I think this is a fair indicator that she should dine out more often 😄 My steak was exceptional. It was also priced very fairly. Not sure why so many people are reviewing this pub as overpriced? Given the location and high quality of food and service we received, I'd say it's excellent value. Rifling through her pasta, Alexis was impressed with the number of prawns she received. She must have enjoyed her meal, as she used chunks of my very large steak to wipe her bowl clean. This girl can eat! Anyway, to cut a short story long, I'll be coming back here on a calm summers evening to try more off the menu, and if a dog looks at you like it's going to bite you, it...
Read moreWe went for lunch yesterday and sat outside on the deck. Service was efficient as usual. We ordered our mains and a glass of wine each. I ordered the prawn and lobster raviolli as a main meal for $50.00 and my friend the seniors flathead. Both came shortly after. The seniors meal was generous and fresh. My prawn and lobster raviolli not. Firstly to get 4 raviolli and 4 prawns for $50 is underwhelming to say the least. Add to that under cooked raviolli where the pasta was still stiff and the filling not adequately cooked through rendering it dry and hard is not good enough, and suggests either a rushing of the cooking or a last of understanding of timing to cook through a fairly thick outer pasta. Having been there a few times previously and had the side vegetables always barely luke warm it seems the cooking staff are not sampling their dishes enough before sending them out to their patrons, as the least we should expect is food served properly cooked and HOT ! Lastly, I think ALL wait staff should be instructed to ask diners "how was everything" at the end of their meals. It's not only to allow people to give an opinion of their meal, but is vital for the kitchen for feedback, and perhaps rectify it on the spot with an apology, a credit, a free drink etc at the actual time. Anyway, looking at previous reviews and my previous experiences this place can be "hit and miss", which for the prices they are asking is not good enough. More care and direction is required in the kitchen. The view of the boat mooring whilst relaxing, isn't enough to make up for...
