HIDEOUS. DANGEROUS. FILTHY. We read the reviews and decided after a long week we would order take away from here tonight. We ordered a prawn dish, a paneer dish, paratha, garlic naan, 2 x lassis and gulab jaman. To begin with, both the prawn and paneer mains were absolutely lacklustre at best, with just zero flavour and such a lack of any real love that bland would be the best explanation of both, or perhaps forgettable, even. However, the kashmiri rice was indescribably abysmal, with nothing more than old rice thrown into a sad plastic container, along with a couple of nuts and berries and zero, zero flavour. The absolute low point really made itself known though when we reached for the bread... my god, if these breads were less than a month old, we would be very surprised. HIDEOUS, hideous old and tasteless bits of cardboard that were not fit for human consumption, EVER. As we realised that we had really hit upon a truly disgusting business to have ordered from, with filthy food and zero love for what they do, my partner opened up the dessert, the gulab jaman to realise that it was in fact rancid and he could not hold it to his nose for more than a moment, that I too, sadly, reinforced. The stench may never leave me and a once much-loved dessert may never ever be possible to enjoy again. I called them to speak with them about this revolting meal and absolute rip off and the person I spoke with seemed to think the matter was quite funny and advised that 'next time we come in', we mention it... next time? Is he joking?
It's impossible to imagine how hungry one would need to be to even consider Moti Mahal, the temple of doom, as a place to eat. It is nothing more than a place to avoid,...
Read moreI am absolutely outraged by the disgraceful behavior of the owner of this restaurant. I ordered a half tandoori chicken for takeaway, and when I went to pick it up, I was accused of not paying for my previous order 2 weeks ago. He had the audacity to tell me it would be $39 instead of the $18 I KNOW I paid for. This was done in front of other customers, and he continued to insist that I owed him more money, with absolutely no evidence to back it up.
This kind of unprofessional, disrespectful behavior is the most appalling thing I have ever witnessed from a business owner. To the owner: Just so you know, I did pay for the previous order, as I confirmed by checking my bank statement. How dare you accuse me of being a thief and accuse me of not paying for something I’ve already settled. How dare you try to intimidate me into paying extra for something I’ve already paid for!
If you can’t even manage basic takeaway payments, you have no business running a restaurant. Get your act together. I will never be returning to this place. You’ve lost a customer for life, and I will make sure everyone knows about your shocking lack of...
Read moreNo poppadom for me, even though the other table received complimentary ones — never mind.
The food arrived quickly. The butter chicken tasted more like zesty tomato chicken. I ordered garlic naan but was given ?roti instead — never mind.
Later, they tried to serve me another garlic naan, but I knew the lady had messed up the order. She pretended to go back to the kitchen, then came back trying to serve me the same naan — I obviously declined, she did not explained what was happening and disappeared swiftly — never mind.
When attempted to pay at the counter, the same rude lady made me waited for 5 minutes while she frantically tried to sort out other customer’s table. She appeared anxious and fidgety — completely unprofessional. Then she frustratedly attended to me, as if I was a burdened, had the audacity to charge me for two garlic naans which I never ordered. When I pointed it out, she gave me a dirty look, offered no apology, and insisted I ordered two.
She tried to bluff her way through it and ended up humiliating me in front of a crowd. Hands down the worst service I’ve...
