Extremely disappointed with this place today upon my first visit, after reading the reviews online. I was looking to get away from the Vietnamese chain establishments, and try something with a little higher quality. As a frequent salad eater, I was eagerly awaiting trialing their Vietnamese salad, however to my dismay I was left thoroughly disappointed. Firstly, their Salad menu was confusing to read at best. The clear view of the menu was more than partially obstructed by two large boxes boxes, that made it borderline impossible to aptly view the text. I selected a chicken salad, as their online menu stated their salad came with "grilled chicken". To my dismay, when I opened my take-away box I found one small piece of heavily fried chicken, much to my chagrin as I currently am not allotting for deeply fried foods within my curated diet. Finally, and in my main gripe with this experience, the salad came absolutely LOADED with rice vermicelli noodles. The amount of ACTUAL salad could be labelled "minimal at best", with mere remnants of iceberg lettuce accompanying a couple of pieces of raw onion and cucumber. I can only image the profit margins these guys are running with, calling an glorified bowl of plain rice vermicelli noodles with a couple of garnishes a "salad". For now, I will take my disappoint and high hopes along with me, as I re-join the mass crowds and head back to Roll'd for my Vietnamese salad needs/requirements. Their fish sauce garnish may be flavourless, but at least they do not fail to offer you a genuine, healthy traditional Vietnamese salad- full of vietnamese style slaw and not a rice noodle or carbohydrate in site. Only shining light was the delicious chicken included (hence the 2 stars- would have given 1.5 if I could), however it was far too small and unhealthy to surpass the lowlight shone by the core of the salad. Very upset. (Not a...

I placed an order on Doordash at 11:20am and soon got confirmed by the restaurant. At first Doordash showed "Preparing for order" and "Searching for Dasher" for a while, which was acceptable as sometimes people could get busy. Then one Dasher picked up the job and came to the restaurant. At 12:35pm, I received a call from the Dasher saying that the restaurant did not have my order. I had to call the restaurant at 12:44pm to see what happened. It turned out to be they ran out of some ingredients or completely no Pho and they asked me to change to something else. I can totally understand that they are a busy restaurant and I was just unlucky. But I did check my phone and I did not receive any calls from them. Normally when the restaurants start making the food realising they don't have enough ingredients, they should contact the customers immediately, not the customers follow up with the order as the status of the order on the app is still "being processed". Therefore, the restaurant should have had notified me before, instead of letting me wait for more than one hour for nothing. This is not the first time I've ordered from Doordash then had to change the items, however it is the first time I've got no notification. The lady answering the phone was nice but all of this has made a negative impression for the very first order at...

ORDERED: 🌭  Crazy Delish Crispy Pork: Melted pork with crispy skin, chicken liver parfait, egg butter, coriander, carrot daikon pickles, cucumber, onion, fried onion served on the flaky buttery breads and hoisin sauce and chilli jam ($12.50)

I paid $12.71 which included card surcharge

REVIEW: ✔️ When you go to Heartbaker Bun Mee, you need to get their crispy pork! ➖  I'm not sure what happened, but it wasn't as good as the first time. The bread still had a delicious flecked crust, and a fluffy inside, but the pork belly wasn't as delicious. ❌  It seemed a little cold, but that might've been because we came before the lunch rush so the pork belly wasn't incredibly CRISP or warm. There's also an opportunity for the chilli to be spicier. 🤐

The price is also cheaper if you buy direct from their store. It looked a little more expensive on uber eats! 👍 I also brought a small bag because I was buying for 4, which they were happy to pack the pork banh mi's into the bag. Otherwise, keep in mind that Heartbaker will charge you a little...

@heartbaker.bunmee 📍CBD 🥖 Lux Grilled Pork Banh Mi Heartbaker Bun Mee is an authentic Vietnamese cafe serving up fresh traditional street food. Their full menu is based on family recipes, featuring their signature Banh Mi, rice paper rolls, noodle dishes and hearty salads.🇻🇳 I went for the Lux Grilled Pork Banhi Mi and it’s sitting firmly in my Top 2 in Melbourne. The bun itself is perfection, a fresh, crispy, buttery, tiger roll that’s soft and fluffy on the inside. The pork was next level crispy and there was no fat at all. For lean lovers this was a giant tick from me. Everything was in proportion and worked well. 🥖 I think it could have had a little extra flavour to make it a 5, but it’s very close to it. I almost went for another one straight after - I’ve been thinking about it all week. The banh mi are $12.50 each and worth every cent. ⭐️ 4.7/5 💸 $

Whilst $12.50 isn’t the usual banh mi price most of us are used to, this is well worth the price and a price I’d be willing to pay any day for this quality. The tiger roll was crispy and flaky but still soft on the inside, there was so much crispy, fatty meat and salad packed into it and the hoisin was plentiful without overpowering the roll. Also special mention to the giant slice of pickled radish in the middle which satisfied my pickle cravings! I wish there was more patê in it, but overall I throughly enjoyed it. It’s definitely one of the best I’ve had in Melbourne. Don’t be fooled by the line outside, you will get your order in less than 3 mins tops. Always happy to see small migrant-owned businesses doing well like this, especially in the CBD 👏🏻
