Punthill Apartment Hotels | Flinders Lane — Hotel in Melbourne

Firstly upon arrival I noticed my room was very dusty and not really up to standard of cleaning also the furniture and carpet had not been shampoo for a long time, and you pay a 250 dollar pet fee! No longer dog friendly as no grass or area for the dog, apartment too small for dog and guest! No dog friendly assisted living facility no dog walking facility no dog toilet area or water bowl? I'm struggling to see how this is pet friendly. Also staff and cleaners were banging doors very loudly every day now if U have PTSD this is scary! So you put music on then they complain about music which can I say has never been a problem Eva before! No worries sorry, pay for room service but did not have room service come to my room once they didn't even read the note on the door asking for coffee mild and sugar I paid a 200 dollar booking deposit and they have just kept it after all the ordeal I actually cleaned the room and moved around furniture to pick up dust and they keep my deposit!! AGAIN JUST MAKES ME SICK HOW THERE IS A LACK OF CARE AND UNDERSTANDING! Also door dash or any delivery driver find it really hard to get to you! PARKING IS ALSO OFF SITE AMD CHARGES YOU TO LEAVE LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE ON SITE! ON THE FRIDAY NIGHT WHILE I STAYED A LARGE MOB OF PPL WERE DRINKING ALCOHOL AND SMASHING BOTTLES OUT THE FRONT HARDLY SAFE OR PRIVATE NO RECEPTIONIST OR SECURITY! ALSO FIRE ALARM WENT OFF AT 4AM THURSDAY NIGHT HAD TO EVACUATE NO APOLOGY OR NOTICE FROM PUNTHILL! THE ALARM DIDNT GO OFF ON THE GUEST FLOOR! THIS IS VERY CONCERNING! I WAS TRYING TO FILL THE BATH AND THE WATER WAS YELLOW SANDY THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A SEPERATE OCCASION! IN 2 YEAR PERIOD SO I DARE SAY THE WATER IS CONTAMINATED OR PIPE NOT SEALED PROPERLY! AS I ALSO HAD AN UPSET STOMACH MOST OF THE TIME I WAS THERE! Front desk I dealt with is incompetent. Shocking service, though comfortable enough if you can make it last the front desk

Booked a studio, wasn't clean in check in. Grease all over crockery and cookware and shelves. Only shelf I could reach was broken, but disguised. Sailesh told my partner it would be fixed on the 17th, nothing happened for over an hour (my partner was assured it wouldn't interfere with our evening plans.) I called to see what the hold up was, the weasel lied, and argued heatedly for several minutes, insisting he never made any promises to my partner and it wouldn't/couldn't be done that day - basically, my partner was lying or had misinterpreted.

This was not the case, Sailesh is too stupid to offer any remedy service or suggestion so i demanded he put me in a room I could use if he wasn't going to clean it or fix the shelf. Upgraded to 2 bedroom apartment.

Childs room in 2 bedroom apartment has camera above bed. Sailesh sees it for himself, shrugs and says "that's weird, just use the other room" and ignored all follow up

Took some time to convince anyone to take it seriously even though Sailesh had seen it himself and not acted.

Edit: eventually the camera was removed in the 19th, a fake thank god. No thanks to the most incompetent and lazy staff member Sailesh. I had to speak to the chain's head office directly for anything to occur. Still no contact or apology from the weasel on the front desk

If I never never see Sailesh again it'll be too soon. A dead slug is more intelligent and provides better service.

The location was great for trams, coffee & food. However, the nightlife was very loud and disturbing until very early in the morning. Not great for kids - we were in a 2 bedroom apartment.

We might have ignored the noise if the beds were comfortable.... alas, they were extremely soft and not supportive at all. After 1 night, we contemplated changing hotels but wondered if the second night would have been better. It was not.

The apartment was clean, however the second toilet continuously ran, so we turned the water off at the wall when we were in the apartment.

Attemptemping to recoup on the couch was a waste of time unless you wanted to slouch or lay down. The average height to taller person, or anyone with joint or mobility issues, would struggle with the deep seated couch and the proximity to the floor (extremely low).

The dark decor was moody and gloomy for a family stay - black and red suits more of an adult establishment than a family stay, and the plastic furniture was tacky (acrylic chairs around a glass top table).

On arrival, the artificial air freshener was offensive and possibly on par with the urine smell of some of the laneways. Interestingly, on departure, we were never asked how we found our stay, yet as we waited for transport, all other guests were asked.

If you are going to stay here, pre check in so you don't have to stand in the air freshener for too long, bring your own fave-washer as none are supplied, bring ear plugs and sleep across the bed rather than top to toe - it's more...
