I ordered a quarter chicken with gravy, peas, pumpkin and potato, at 10 past 7 in the evening. The chicken is cooked and ready to serve sitting there, the young staff were very slowly putting together the orders for the people who had obviously rang up and ordered. after 15 minutes another customer went to the counter to ask if there was a problem with his order of which they said no it will not be much longer. He was sick of waiting as well. the young staff were still working at the pace of a complete amateur, mean while the owner of the shop is cleaning up at a really good pace. not the pace we are being served with. I am sorry but you cut the chicken, put it in a container then you add the veg which are cooked and you give it to the customer. (hello rocket science moment) I went to the counter and said to the staff who looked completely dumfounded as to why i am not happy, and said keep the money your service is terrible and I will never return. I have cooked professionally for 30 years and I am the most patiant person when it comes to service. I can evaluate when there is something wrong, WHY IS IT MORE IMPORTANT TO CLEAN THE KITCHEN THAN TO SERVE THE CUSTOMERS AT 7.15 AT NIGHT, PEAK TIME FOR PEOPLE WANTING FOOD. YOU LEAVE THE AMATURES TO SERVE AND YOU WANT TO GET READY TO GO HOME. WELL YOU HAVE ROCKS IN YOUR HEAD. IT IS A BUSINESS AND I WILL NEVER RETURN. If it was 8.30 fear enough but 7.15. I left without even asking for my money back....
Read moreIt's been 33 years in the culinary industry for me, at some amazing establishments in Australia, the likes of Palazzo Versace, Lynchs , ten minutes by tractor and running our own multi awarded restaurant on the NSW South Coast. As a senior member of ACF and WACS I truly must compliment Nick and his team on the execution of their unique product. The gentleman that served me was very helpful and noticed I was outside with my little Maltese and was a gentleman and brought out my order. Everything on the order was executed with precision and the taste, seasonings and moisture levels on point. I rang later on to give my compliments and the lady that answered the phone was very polite. The return call was prompt and after speaking to Nick he is obviously a stickler for quality and is as passionate as I have been in this culinary world that expresses emotions through great cuisine. Well Done and will highly recommend to family, friends and friends to be. The gentleman down the road at the bottle shop had nothing more then high recommendations for Highett Charcoal Chicken. Best regards to nick and the brigade. Kaibil Amon_Ra...
