I had a wonderful time visiting Monkey Can Fly last night. They’ve recently started opening certain nights as Chinese Mama’s Kitchen, offering a small but authentic selection of Chinese dishes alongside happy-hour drinks. The dumplings were delicious — warm and juicy — and we loved indulging in the fried chicken, spring rolls, bao buns, and fried rice. It’s great to have access to quality Chinese food on this side of Highett Road. The cozy atmosphere with the heater, pleasant music, and friendly staff made the evening even better. I definitely encourage you to give it a try — I’ll be coming back again soon!

MCF was buzzing when I arrived on a Friday at high noon. There was only 2 of us so getting a table was easier. We were greeted immediately by a friendly staff member and were served our coffee/tea plus blueberry muffins in quick time (they do have plenty of other items for lunch - must come back and try them) The muffins weren't the biggest or best I've had, yet enjoyable. Perhaps 3.5 is closer to the mark. Definitely worth a visit this one.

In area after 3pm and dying for a coffee and luckily Monkey Can Fly was still offering takeaway coffees. Thank you Graham! Got flat white for husband and decaf soy latte for me and also because they looked so sweet 2 little muffins, 1 orange and 1 savoury. This Cafe has lots of seating inside and out. The breakfast menu looks good and they even offer wine. Will have to go back to try avocado smash.

A disaster… I waited and I waited at the table. A young boy went past I asked for a menu. He said wait a minute… got me a menu. I asked him to take away previous persons cups and glasses!! Then I thought someone would come and take my order!!! Guy making coffees didn’t even look in my direction. I thought oh maybe i have to go up And order. But there is a sign saying if you are dining in then table service. I waited another 10minutes. Then that is enough.. poor service young boy not trained properly to at least wipe the table. I got up and left. I looked back and the woman was washing cups!! Hello!!! You want our custom. Then give us service.. I won’t...
