Visited September 2022. Sunday Night. Shanghainese cuisine. Very rare and difficult to do. I was extremely impressed with what they served up given many of the ingredients necessary for making Shanghainese dishes are not available and not easily substitutable in Melbourne. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Will definitely be back! If you're wondering what to order, the answer is pretty much anything. Forgot to take photos but we ordered about 15 dishes that night and all except 小黄鱼，were perfect. 酱鸭 and 狮子头 are amazing

To be honest there isn’t a lot of options to eat in this area, but this one might be one of the best around… came here for lunch and it was quick, filling and relatively cheap. Dumplings were nice, maybe a little too doughy for my liking but it did it’s job. Would definitely come back if I’m in the area again. There is a $15 minimum spend for EFTPOS, otherwise there’s a 20 cent surcharge.

Enjoyed parts of our meal at Homes Dumpling Kitchen but the dishes are hit and miss. Loved the chicken corn soup and fried rice but if you call yourself a dumpling kitchen you have to nail the dumplings. Unfortunately ours were a bit of a miss, the flavour in the filling was a little off and the dough was rubbery. Overall still a good time with great value just missing some quality.

I don’t normally leave reviews (sorry to the many excellent restaurants I’ve ignored) but this place has definitely motivated me. Organisation here is abysmal. Made an order and was told it was all fine. Arrived there to be told part of the order couldn’t be filled (no call or offer of a replacement). I asked for something else to make up for the missing food. I had the wait twenty minutes for the alternate order and they charged me full price. To top it off the food wasn’t even good. Take the 10 minutes to go...

If you want CHEAP NASTY FOOD that is not authentic to ASIAN CUISINE, then come to homes Dumpling Kitchen, one of the biggest disasters that I have seen in 34 years of living in Balwyn. The FOOD is SALTY and if you have any sort of palate at all, you will notice that the sauces and marinades used are full of MSG and preservatives.
