REVIEW: ♥ Really enjoyed Colonel Tso's Cauliflower, Tandoori chicken and the unauthentic butter Chicken as my top three. If you've been to Daughter In Law in the city, Colonel Tso's cauliflower is no stranger to you. Reminiscent of sweet-sour-pork style in Asian cooking, Horn Please brings the same thick coating that elevates the normal basic cauliflower. Highly recommend this as a snack before the mains! 💌 Tandoori chicken was excellent. Flavourful, juicy chicken that has been marinated in spiced yoghurt and accompanied by a refreshing mint chutney. Absolutely delicious. 🤩 Similarly, my basic tastebuds really enjoyed the unauthentic butter chicken. Much creamier that added a decadence with every bite. 😆
❌ Least favourite was the size of the Gol Gappa. It should be bite size, but some of the shells were too big for a comfortable mouthful. ✨ Palak Paneer S-tier is still at ISH, Fitzroy.✨
Service was friendly and the gentleman had great advice. Going with the cauliflower over the Samosa Chat gave the dining experience more diversity in flavour profiles. The red lighting was overwhelming and did not appear to translate well to taking photos of the food. Sad, when you want to appreciate and showcase the presentation of...
Read moreWent in yesterday for dinner, and the restaurant did not disappoint! I’ve been craving Indian food for ages, and this place absolutely satisfied that craving. The restaurant gives off such vibrant and warm vibes, full of color and character. The staff are very attentive and keep you updated on your food as it’s being prepared.
What we ordered: Pani Puri Shots – I love the concept! The flavored liquid is served in a shot glass, topped with the pani puri filled with crunchy veggies. The experience of pouring and eating it all at once is amazing. It’s delicious and refreshing, especially with the yogurt. Definitely include this in your starters! 10/10
Samosa Chaat – The sauce may seem overwhelming at first since the samosas are covered in it, but believe me, it’s so good you’ll be cleaning your plate. Highly recommended as a starter. 9/10
Palak Paneer – I’ve had this before in the Philippines, and this version did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious! The spinach purée isn’t bitter, and the spice builds up gradually as you eat. Loved it and would definitely come back just for this. 10/10
Beef Madras – The curry is thick, smooth, and perfect with garlic naan or biryani rice. We ate using our hands, just as my Indian friend showed me. The meat is tender and falls apart easily. Great dish! 8/10
Chicken Tandoori – 4pcs of thigh fillets. It’s not your usual bright red tandoori, but the taste is amazing, smoky and tangy, perfect again with naan or biryani. 9/10
Mixed Naan (Regular & Garlic) – Best paired with your curries. Always served fresh and hot! 10/10
Kulfi Ice Cream & Gulab Jamun – If you’re not used to the spices, the ice cream might taste unusual at first, but it’s actually delicious once you get into it. Paired with syrup-soaked Gulab Jamun, it’s the perfect ending! 9/10
The experience wouldn’t have been as memorable and enjoyable without Tita, our amazing server. She was so enthusiastic and...
Read moreWe went to Horn Please in Fitzroy to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and booked a table for around 15 people for their bottomless brunch. The booking process was super easy, and when we called to add more seats last minute, the staff were incredibly helpful in making it happen. The location was convenient, with plenty of parking available out the back off the street.
The venue is absolutely stunning, with vibrant colours both inside and out that really make it stand out. The interior is filled with charming details, from the artwork to the cozy atmosphere, and there was even a film playing on a projector throughout the day. It’s such a warm and welcoming space, perfect for a celebration.
Although we had initially booked everyone for the bottomless brunch, the staff kindly let some of our group order off the main menu, which was a huge help. About six of us opted for the brunch, which featured a great selection of drinks and cocktails paired with some truly delicious food. The butter chicken and cauliflower were standouts for me, so flavourful and perfectly cooked. Their mojitos and mango lassi, both included in the bottomless options, were crowd favourites, and we shared a few jugs around the table. The entree cracker balls with sauce were a fun flavour explosion to kick off the meal, and my partner couldn’t get enough of them!
Everyone who ordered from the main menu raved about their meals, with compliments flying around the table to the chef. The staff went above and beyond to make the day special, holding onto a birthday cake for my girlfriend and even giving her a birthday hat for when we sang happy birthday. They also helped us split the bill between all 15 of us, which made things so much easier.
If you’re looking for a spot with incredible food, exceptional service, and a vibrant atmosphere, Horn Please is an absolute must, especially for a memorable...
