Montys Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

A couple of the bar staff when I went in a few days ago (a couple of broey guys who collect bad records, and especially one girl with jet black hair) were acting like absolute tossers. They seemed intent on belittling those around them and throwing their weight around with an imagined sense of superiority. Highly pretentious, rude, dull and childish. The whole place has a really irritating millenial vibe in that sense and subsequently lacks a lot of class. Respect to Monty for a nicely designed bar, nice woodwork and such and good drink selection, but I think he should be more wary of who he has on staff and the kind of entitlement they seem to assume with the job. Definitely a bar for a younger pretentious age bracket...

Mate, where do I start? I walked into this joint and the first thing I noticed was all the sexy bar staff!! I'm not gonna lie I had a rager that night (in both meanings of the term!!!). This place is a dark dingy and un-inviting place, hard to find, poor service and somewhat grubby in appearance. It's a place waiting for an accident, as they have single steps in a couple of locations that are hard to see due to the poor lighting and no hazard warnings, I nearly feel which could have resulted in broken bones. I expected a rather nice place due to the photo's available online, but was horrified on arrival. So definitely, won't be going...
