Went here on recommendation, and now I recommend you to come here too. Had J's big breakfast and for a big breakfast the size was perfect and went hand in hand with the quality of the food. A LAMB CUTLET FOR BREAKFAST!!! and the accompanying lemon wedge really mellowed the richness of the cutlet down. Sausage was precut and waiting, the tomato, mushroom and spinach were mixed in well together. The coffee was perfect as requested and the beans used not only complimented the food but the low light and mellow atmosphere. The question is when I come back. It's how soon will I be back.

I got a good iced long black (that’s what they call iced coffee or iced Americano in Australia) with a pastry. To be honest, the pastry looked a bit old, but it was actually really yummy. I was coming back from a bike ride and it was the first place I saw, right next door to another restaurant I’ve been to. I got good vibes, and the staff were all very kind. I love going to dog-friendly places and seeing workers who also love dogs, just like me, lol. If you’re looking for a place to grab a coffee or something to eat, this is a great spot. Coffee + pastry = $11 total

A cute little Cafe in Fitzroy North, which is dog friendly and has a lovely open courtyard at the rear. I ordered the Ruben Toasted Sandwich with ‘extra Pickle’ and was delighted to have it served with a bonus ‘Side Salad’. Tasty Fresh bread, and great filling inside, I would definitely go back again. Great Menu; Great friendly Staff, who greeted us as we left. East parking in Street. Staff should be congratulated for their amazing service and genuine caring connection with customers. Can’t wait to go back!

Had an amazing experience at Café Piccante!

The team is super friendly, and the café is warm and cosy! The courtyard is awesome, with greenery and a chessboard!

The menu is super extensive, with breaky and lunch options PLUS specials! What I love, is that you can order half serves of the menu, if you aren't as hungry. Or in our case, we ordered 4 half serves so that we could try more food HAHA. The half serves were still quite generous we thought.

We tried 2 x specials: Mushroom Medley and Bircher Muesli, plus the Veggie Breakfast and the Smashed Avo. All vegan and all so fresh and delicious!

I would definitely recommend trying the home made baked beans (on the veggie breaky or as a side) - as they had a unique and tasty flavour.

Would definitely recommend this cute, warm and inviting café for a coffee or brunch date if you are...

Pretty underwhelming experience here today, which was quite disappointing after expecting good things based on the reviews.

The waitress seemed very distracted. We had to remind her of our coffee order twice (2 coffees) and forgot the high chair we asked for, as well as took some time to bring out the menus. Upon ordering, she realized she couldn't remember the order and came back with a notepad. I ordered a chicken, avocado, and caramelized onion focaccia. The first time I got a bacon, avocado, and caramelized onion. I returned it. Second time I got a chicken, avocado, and mushroom foccasia. I didn't have anymore time to waste, so I ate it - didn't want to embarrass her further. Food was average. Won't be returning...

I'd comment about the food, but mine never turned up. After waiting for 30 minutes for eggs, the guy who placed my breakfast order asked me "if I wanted something else". I replied to him, "yeah, my eggs that I ordered 30 minutes ago". The order had been lost, and he said he'd get that on right away for me. I was already 10 minutes late for a meeting around the corner, so I asked for my money back. I got the $13 for eggs back, but they could have at least refunded my $3 tea too, as a gesture that they were really sorry for stuffing me around. Such a shame, I thought the place had...
