I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming restaurant in Port Melbourne, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the place was warm and inviting, with a cozy yet modern décor that set the perfect tone for a memorable meal.
To begin my culinary journey, I decided to order the smash avo, which came highly recommended by the friendly and attentive staff. The dish did not disappoint. The avocado was perfectly ripe and mashed to creamy perfection, generously spread on a slice of crusty bread. Topped with a sprinkle of feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, and a drizzle of tangy balsamic glaze, every bite was a burst of flavors that melded together harmoniously. The portion size was just right, leaving me satisfied without feeling overly full.
Next up was the pumpkin soup, a comforting classic that seemed perfect for the chilly weather outside. Presented in a beautiful bowl, the soup was velvety smooth, with a rich and earthy taste that showcased the natural sweetness of the pumpkin. The subtle hint of spices added depth to the dish, and a garnish of crispy croutons provided a delightful crunch. It was evident that the chef paid great attention to detail in crafting this soup, and it truly warmed both my body and soul.
Accompanying me on this culinary adventure was my little one, who ordered the kids cheeseburger. The dish arrived with a side of crispy golden fries, and it was clear that the restaurant took pride in catering to its younger patrons. The cheeseburger was served on a soft bun, with a juicy and flavorful patty that was cooked to perfection. The cheese melted beautifully over the meat, and the accompanying condiments added a delicious tang. My child devoured the meal with enthusiasm, and I could tell it was a hit.
Overall, my experience at this Port Melbourne restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The atmosphere was inviting, exuding a cozy charm that made me feel right at home. The smash avo was a delicious starter, while the pumpkin soup provided the perfect comfort on a chilly evening. The kids cheeseburger was a winner in my little one's book, and the friendly staff made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you find yourself in Port Melbourne. Whether you're seeking a relaxed brunch or a satisfying dinner, this place has something for everyone. With its delightful atmosphere and delectable dishes, it's sure to leave a lasting impression on...
Read moreWe came there for a Sunday Breakfast while briefly catching up with a work colleague travelling from Northern Tasmania to Adelaide s/he boarded off the Spirit of Tasmania.
This was a first visit and we simply stepped in ordered our breakfast and sat at a nice table in the autumn sunshine. The service was very good. I really like that they did not hover to take our order as we had some catching up to do however the waitress did bring out a bottle of water and some glasses and took the initial order of coffee.
To me the coffee was like many other coffees I have elsewhere however it was too my taste ergo I am happy with that. My little one received a weaker coffee to suit a child's taste and s/he liked it.
The order was the hurricane special consisting a two poached eggs on top of hash brown and bacon with a spread of tomato chutney. I very much liked them and the portion did fill me.
My little one's pancakes with ice cream and fairy floss was great for him/her, and the toasted sandwich filled my GLW. Lastly was the vegan special my colleague ate was large in portioned and s/he felt satisfied.
For value for money, it seemed fair and reasonable considering the location, the time and that there were two adult sized and two child sized meals that applied with a number of side drinks.
Will I return... by all means and considering this is a busy Sunday morning I understood the little longer time but it was worth waiting for ergo they received my full five points which is rare.
Last note, this would most likely be a family run business so I implore everyone to support small family business as they are the backbone of the...
Read moreI made a reservation a few days before Father’s Day to book a table for 6 and a pram. I asked for a corner table because of the pram. Got an email confirmation not long after that. Arrived at the venue with my family, on time, and was welcomed by a confused host. Yes, she confirmed that I had a table reserved but she had to step away for a bit and came back with another staff member. This other staff member did not say anything to us, but instead went inside to make up a table. We were standing outside watching how she moved and dragged the chairs and tables but when she realized it was not possible, she went out to tell us that she can sit us outside. I asked what happened to my reservation? She said she cannot fit us inside anymore but there’s a table outside. Mind you, the table that she was giving us “just got vacated!” So really, even with the email confirmation, there was no reserved table for us after all. We did not really want to sit outside but we were discussing for a bit and considering it. Aside from the fact that my 8 yr old grandchild has a disability and he will always ask to run for cars, it is very windy for my other grandson who is a month old! But the worst part was, this staff member told my son in law; you have to make a decision cos we got bookings.” The audacity! We walked off. Yes, we probably did not matter to you, you are a busy restaurant, popular, but you should get your act together, deal with customers politely. Do not rush us to make a decision whether we wanna sit outside or not, you stuffed up my Father’s Day...
