A big exciting family event that should have been a happy time, turned into an absolute joke. There would have been at least 200 people crammed into this restaurant last Saturday night, the 27th. So crammed that my sons pram had to be lifted above peopleās heads and tables in order for us to get the pram through. Thatās how tight tables were.
If you were sitting at the end of the table, you had to have your legs side on and out in order to actually be able to sit down. It was completely illegal in coronavirus measures and times to have that amount of people in one sitting. So many people also equals way too much noise. We were shouting just to speak to the person sitting very bloody close to you. There was no way anyone could enjoy their meals with how the tables were set. I spent the night trying to navigate my way through, with 2 small children and couldnāt even sit with my legs underneath the table to eat. You made no provisions for children after being told there would be a pram and a high chair. My night, as a mother of two small children was exhausting. You need to be more family friendly on a busy night!
You have not followed coronavirus guidelines and restrictions and thatās not fair on all the places that must. You cannot make up your own rules and make it un enjoyable for people. It was so terrible that we took the dessert and our cake to celebrate with our family at home, all 18 of us! All we wanted to do was get out of there. Incredibly disappointing seeing the food was āgoodā. Date of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas planning my childās Christening/ 1st birthday. Had booked somewhere else however was having a load of trouble. I stubbled across this place whilst trying to find a new venue. Spoke to the owner and straight away he was willing to help me out. Took my wife the next day to check out the venue within 10 mins of being there we had already received more service than the other venue had given us over a whole month. So we decided to lock in Ilios Taverna to host our event. The owner and his wife were extremely accomodating. In regards to the food it exceeded our expectations to say the least. Absolutely delicious. The day after the event we had so many relatives and friends call us to tell how extremely happy they were with the food and service with many even considering to host there events there in the future. From the bottom of our hearts we like to thank the owner, his wife and staff for making our event memorable. I had stressed to the owner that I wanted people to go home full and even was willing to pay extra. He assured me that the food was more than enough and was like keep your money. Thank you for your honesty and once again thank you for making our event memorable. Would highly recommend this venue...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur mixed Greek and Australian family saddled up once again on Saturday night in search of the perfect Taverna and Ilios did not disappoint. The food was excellent (as was the house Raki) and the place was really pumping with a full house inside.
Highlights included the pan fried Scallops, some of the best Dolmades I've had and Chicken Gyro on the mixed grill which I am normally not a big fan of but to which I am now a convert!
We had to opt for an early start, 5.30 with a promise that we be out by 8 which suited us fine however it did seem to lead to some over exuberant service at times including the cardinal sin of removing a plate that still had Lamb Gyros on it!
This was the only thing that stopped me giving the full 5 stars, apart from that Ilios was brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed by us and highly...
