On the 20th of April 2021, I’ve had one of the worst salmonella/ food poisoning experiences after dining at Jojo’s Little Kitchen. I ordered the traditional thin souped pan mee along with fried wontons; therefore, I believe some of the meat products were either contaminated or undercooked.
Although the food tastes mediocre and brings a sense of home as a Malaysian, the attitude of some waitresses were really poor, particularly the one who has the fairest skin and dark hair. I can vouch for their bad attitude as I have been dining here at least 5 times (because I miss Malaysian Pan Mee) and their attitudes and behaviour has been consistently poor compared to other dining experiences here in Melbourne.
I deeply understand that restaurants can be busy during peak hours, but the staffs were
Not warm and welcoming upon guests entry.
Speaks too quickly when repeating order (with a very rushed and annoyed attitude)
The staff with fair skin and dark hair just slams the bowl down without saying the order’s name like how other establishments do. Though other staffs have been nice to warn that the bowl is warm while saying the orders number.
The staff with fair skin and dark hair has always had a the longest and “blackest” face when eve serving customers. I then assumed she was having a bad day or was probably sick because she was coughing. But, when I looked over to her speaking to other staffs, she immediately had a smile on her face and was conversing with the loudest laughter. (This happened both in 2021 and 2019).
Overall, the food quality was okay, but Jojo’s should really consider having a team meeting with all staffs Or have a staff refresh as this is an ongoing issue that a lot of customers have to face (according to other comments that I have read). They should also take in mind of the google reviews that have been posted and improve on their customer service because literally the first initial reaction when entering Jojo’s is feeling taken aback. I hope this establishment can read this review and help improve their...

📍Jojo Little Kitchen Must try Malaysian Chinese pan mee specialty restaurant with great prices! Perfect for students who are feeling homesick and looking for a good deal!
Featured in video Jojo's pork pan mee dry ($19.9) Hot & spicy soup noodle ($17.9) Fried Pork ($14.9) Century egg dumplings soup ($12.9) 3 colour coffee ($6) Cincau grass jelly ($5)
The noodles are all freshly hand made and soak up the soup really well. They have a nice chewy texture.
The classic pork pan mee is served with soup on the side; the anchovy broth soup is savoury, rich and clear, with a generous serving of pork slices, meatballs, and mince. The noodles are topped with crispy anchovies and mushrooms. It has a clean and simple, but comforting taste.
Hot and spicy soup noodles were REALLY spicy, so watch out for the spice levels! The flavour is nice and intense but the spice nearly killed me - in Malay, I would say "sangat pedas" - VERY SPICY.
The fried pork was crispy and well seasoned. Would definitely go well with rice, or even as a snack on its own. Century egg dumplings were large, and full of fillings. The soup base at Jojo is really flavourful and delicious.
They serve kopitiam classic drinks including 3 colour coffee and grass jelly, and are slightly sweeter. We also got a lemon tea since the soup was too spicy.
Portions are large and it would be possible to share a bowl of noodles between 2 people especially if you got sides like dumplings or fried pork. Great value for money especially if you're sharing with friends! Send this to a friend you want to go with!

Read moreSo, I’ve just ordered a bowl of pan mee for take away from Jojo Little Kitchen in Franklin St CBD. It costs me $ 13.90. If you pay by card you get charged extra 1.5% (which is fair for the transaction fee).
Next, they start asking do you need a bag and they will charge you for extra $0.20 even though you have a massive order that consists of extra few containers. So I opted no, and I pass the cashier a take away Uber bag and say I’ll be back as they will want you to wait outside the store.
Then upon returning to the store to pick up the order, my containers of food was left on the table unpacked on the table. I have to pack the cointainers of food into my provider Uber bag.
Next, I realized no utensils was provided so I have to ask and then only be provided. No napkins was provided.
I understand that this is a hard time for restaurant. So I’m doing what I could to keep supporting them. However, it’s quite upsetting actually as some restaurants chose to be too petty and money grab from those customers who have been supporting them during this trying time.
It’s not about the monetary term I’m talking about here, but rather the inconvenience that some restaurant operator have caused for people like me who always eat in the car( I work in an essential line so I have to eat in the car during my break). All this just because to save a few cents…
So what next? Takeaway box fee for taking away?
Food quality wise? They serve one of the better pan mee around. But because of the inconvenience, probably I will seek other new places to satisfy my cravings. — eating lunch at Jojo...
