Jyu Jyu — Restaurant in Melbourne

Underwhelmed with the food that we ordered take away at Jyu Jyu tonight.

We walked in and the head chef instantly sighed at us. When I asked what were the best sellers/was popular in the menu, he looked at me and almost rolled his eyes and dismissively said, "Depends what you like".

So we ordered the the Sukiyaki Rice Bowl, Katsu Ramen and Takoyaki Balls. Besides the takoyaki, the two bowls we ordered were meh...

The ramen noodles was still glued together, as if it came from a packet, there was barely any veggies and the broth was okay. The sukiyaki bowl's meat was so dry... didn't sit well. My partner and I didn't finish our bowls.

I might have ordered the wrong things on the menu, but I feel like I won't be coming back to this restaurant...

Ramen is not easy to find around Clayton area, so $15 for a bowl of ramen here is quite nice. However, my visit to this restaurant on 22nd Jan 2023 was not extremely pleasant. There was only one staff working there and he looked super angry for some reason like customers owed him money or something. Not outright rude or anything but just really unfriendly. Food was mediocre but tolerable. But the service was so rude and condescending. I asked what cut of beef they were serving due to me having sensitive gums at that time and the guy cooking/serving scolded me saying what do I expect? Wagyu? Totally unnecessary and disgusting attitude. Don’t take your anger out on customers when they’ve got a genuine question.
