I came here with a friend; the place is a little hidden but what a gem. The staff were attentive and were able to answer questions regarding the menu cheerfully, the decor lovely, not to hot or cold and no loud music. They did not hurry our order or try to kick us too quickly. I had the Manto which was light but sufficient on a hot day for lunch, the pastry parcels had lamb and veg; well spiced and with a tomato lentil sauce on top, not being fully aware of Afghani food this was amazing, it was warm but not too spicy and perfectly seasoned. My friend had the miso mushrooms and halloumi cheese on the side. He was impressed with the dish and asked questions about the Japanese spices, and they were happy to put it on the side for him in case he did not like it. I had the iced latte, which was well blended and did not taste too strong or too sweet it was a perfect balance of coffee, milk and syrup. My friend had a large skinny latte the cup was generous all this for under 60 dollars which was a real treat, will be very happy to come back and bring people, the only problem was parking, the building needs to allow for more cafe parking as the employees parked there and no room for customers and very busy at lunchtime....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Kabana Cafe with my family for breakfast, and I must say it was an absolutely outstanding experience. From the moment I stepped foot into the cafe, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home.
The menu offered an impressive variety of breakfast options, had a variety of meals It was evident that the cafe takes great pride in sourcing high-quality ingredients because every bite was bursting with freshness and flavor.
We ordered the Afghan eggs which was beautifully seasoned , mixed kabab, Afghan chai (qaimaq chai) and the fluffy pancakes, and cannot forget the AMAZING coffee, left me wanting more. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left the cafe feeling satisfied and fueled for the day ahead. Will definitely be going back...

The very high ratings for this café situated in a Narre Warren commercial precinct were so good, we simply HAD to check it out for ourselves. And boy are we glad we did.
A lot of the standard café fare is here for those who want the comforts of their usual favourites, but the real feature is to make sure you choose from the Afghan styled menu. Be sure to ask the staff for any guidance.
The meals we shared could have been a highlight in an expensive hatted restaurant. Mind blowing flavours, delicacy, detail and superb quality. I spent half my meal simply shaking my head in disbelief, as this was perhaps the finest lunch I've had anywhere all year.
No other way to put this, it is a MUST to visit...
