I decided to give this place a second chance and revisited it today.

An older gentleman invited me to sit wherever I felt comfortable. I chose Table 3.

The menu has been updated, with special dishes printed in landscape format while the rest of the menu remained in portrait. Although the specials page stood out, having to rotate the menu while reading felt slightly awkward and disrupted the overall experience.

When I went to the counter to place my order, the waitress with dark hair entered my selection into the machine, turned it around, and walked away without offering any guidance. I noticed the contactless payment logo on the machine and figured out I was supposed to pay. After completing the payment, I wanted to request a tax invoice, but the waitress was preoccupied on the other side of the counter, making it impossible to get her attention.

Fortunately, the older gentleman noticed my confusion and kindly provided me with a tax invoice.

I ordered the "Bacon Me Crazy" and a small Flat White.

My coffee arrived after about five minutes—a pretty decent Flat White. Another five minutes later, the waitress brought my food to the table. She placed the plate down silently, without a smile or a word, and walked away. I didn’t even get the chance to thank her. Yep, it was the waitress with dark hair again.

During my initial visit, the food quality had been disappointing, but I have to say, the "Bacon Me Crazy" was much better this time. The portion was generous, and the flavors were well-balanced. Credit to the kitchen team for the improvement.

However, I wasn’t offered a bottle of water. While there were clean glasses on the table, it wasn’t clear whether I needed to request water or if it would be served proactively.

After finishing my meal, I stayed for another 10 minutes, hoping the older gentleman—whom I suspect is the owner or manager—might clear my plate and ask for feedback. Unfortunately, that moment never came.

So, I’m leaving my feedback here.

Overall, the food quality has improved significantly since my first visit, but the service, especially from the waitress with dark hair, still leaves much to be desired. A simple smile and some basic interaction would go a long way in elevating the dining experience.

I’m not asking for much. As a local who lives just five minutes away, I genuinely want this cafe to succeed (it honestly takes a lot of effort to leave honest long reviews). This area lacks quality cafes, and I see real potential here. But service needs to match the improvements made in the kitchen.

(For context, it was 10 AM on a Saturday, and the cafe was only about 20% full. Something feels off.)

I had lunch here this afternoon. I must say, I didnt love it.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the waitress. I was expecting her to lead me to a table. Nope, she just turned around and went back to the back of the counter. I was standing there and had to sort myself out.

I took a seat at Table 6, found the menu, went up to the counter to order the Mix Souvlaki Plate and a Small Flat White.

Took 10 mins for the coffee to arrive. Coffee was ok, nothing to like or not like about.

Foods arrived in another 4-5 mins. The waitress just put the plate on my table and walked away. There was no fork or knife whatsoever. I looked around, other tables have a bucket of forks and knives. Fine, I sorted myself out by grabbing the fork and knife I needed from other table.

The Chicken and Lamb was under seasoned - plain. It was like the chef forgot to put salt onto the foods.

Finished my foods and decided to go.

I was not being offer any water to drink.

The restaurant wasn't busy at all during the time I was at the restaurant. There was barely any customers at the restaurant may be 5 in total.

I would say the waitress was friendly, but not attentive at all. Overall, very disappointed...

As a local resident, I've been coming to Kafe on Hemming since it opened, and I'm always impressed by the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always happy to chat and recommend items from the menu.

Iced lattes are my go-to drink at Kafe on Hemming. They make them with fresh, lactose-free milk and a rich coffee blend. The lattes are always consistent, with just the right amount of sweetness and coffee flavour.

I've also had the food at Kafe on Hemming a few times, and it's always been delicious. The menu features a variety of breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and salads.

Kafe on Hemming is also a great place to meet up with friends for coffee and a chat. The kafe has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, and there's always plenty of seating available.

Honestly we are local and we were so excited to try this cafe out. I have been 3 times now always giving it another chance but we wont be back,.Today i had the smashed avo for breakfast with a side of mushrooms and a chai latte. The latte was great but the food is so bad. I sent the food back the first time because they forgot the mushrooms and didnt cook the eggs a requested. When it came back the second time the toast was soggy, the mushrooms swimming in oil, the eggs not cooked correctly and everything tasted like aniseed and it had no flavour. Previosly i have orderd the zucchini fritters take away and when i opened the box up at home they where clearly burnt and dripping oil. If you need a coffee this place is fine but avoid the food, have yet to have anything i enjoyed unfortunately.( Also to reply to the comment below the lady at the register asked how the meal was i said i didnt enjoy it to which she had no response and she could see i left most of it on the plate.
