I intially placed the review below Beware staying at this place. Their policy as written on the wall is that they require a deposit of $200. They demand that this be made by cash. My husband wanted to pay the $200 on card but they would not accept it. The took a $200 cash deposit from my husband and he signed the paperwork. My husband had to leave the day before we checked out. Upon checkout they had altered the document that he had signed and crossed out $200 and put it as $100. We know we gave them $200, we asked to see the security footage from checkin. They showed this to us. We could clearly see that there was 4 $50 notes handed over yet they got all aggressive and denied this. We took photos of the evidence. We spent 40 mins at check out going through the footage with them and still after that time, they said they couldnt give me even the $100 cash back because my husband was the one who signed it. I phoned my husband and he spoke with them over the phone. They still declined to pay anything to us. Do not trust these people, do not use this place. When cleaning the rooms, they also went through our toilet bag. This is the hotels response:- Response from IvyF48, Manager at Comfort Inn Dandenong Responded 28 Nov. 2019 Dear Guest, Thanks for your review. Firstly, it is yourself who requested the bond to be placed by cash since you are not happy that it will take 3 business days to get the bond back to your bank account, and then we offered the cash option which you can get your bond back straight away. Secondly, we normally took $200 bond from the guest if the guest is not having a credit card with them. However, we would like to help you for the bond during check in, that’s why we only took $100 bond from you. This is the reason why we crossed out the $200 on paperwork and changed to $100. We did suggest you to call the police that morning since we clearly saw that there was only two $50 note in the camera footage, however, you refused to call the police to come and investigate. We have kept all the footage in our file and please feel free to call the police anytime if you would like them to come and investigate. We have been doing hotel business for more than 30 years and this is our first time also to have this kind of hard time with a guest. Thanks again for choosing to stay at our hotel and hope you have a nice day. Warm Regards, Comfort Inn Team
The hotels response is not correct at all. Firstly, we did not want to pay cash, we have no problem with a bond being put back in our account. We have travelled alot and understand that this is the procedure. We strongly objected to paying cash. The $200 that we handed over and signed for was crossed out later and marked as $100. Any changes to an amount should be initialled at the time and signed to confirm the change. We reviewed the footage and we could see that there were more than 2 x $50 in the hands of the receptionist. We did call the police and they advised that they could not attend as it was a 'Civil matter'. We then contacted choice hotels directly to lodge an investigation. To date we still have not received our $200 back nor any funds back from the hotel, nor have they made any attempt to resolve this or to contact us. Very poor service and very...
Read moreAvoid this place like the plague. Dirty room upon arrival, dirty floors although bathroom was mostly clean. Half used complimentary shampoo on bathroom counter.
Was told no key is given, only staff will open rooms each time because of covid health and safety. This is ridiculous and absurd and quite frustrating when night staff were sleeping at the front desk. Night staff quite rude each time I requested them to unlock my room after finishing late shifts at work (finishing my night shifts at 2am, 4am, 6am)
After checking out one morning (about 9:30am) and then unfortunately needing to re-book for another couple of nights (other accommodation were all fully booked) I was given the same room upon check-in a little after midnight, and was appalled to find the room had not been cleaned, dirty linen and towels which I had placed in the shower as per hotel guest etiquette, the night desk clerk was quite rude and disgruntled, and told me to just re-use the dirty linen, which was partially wet from the shower base, and questioned why I had an issue with this. After detailed and lengthy discussion over legislative accommodation standards and the obligation he, as a representative of the Comfort Hotel Dandenong, needed to at least supply me with all clean linen & towels and I would then make up the bed myself as I was exhausted after working almost a 12 hour shift, I just wanted a shower and bed. Not be kept waiting while the concierge fell asleep again and needed to be woken a second time just so I could be let...

Staff were very helpful, supplying us with a vase for flowers & some crockery and cutlery. They also contacted their technician when I had difficulty connecting my chromecast (I eventually got it going).
Plenty of on site parking.
Bed was only a double, despite being advertised as a LARGE double in a Queen suite & was a little hard for us (however that’s subjective). There is a metal coil rim around the top of the mattress, which we found very uncomfortable. I assume it’s to prevent sagging on the edges.
One thing we were disappointed with (& the only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating) was the noise level, especially considering the rooms are advertised as “soundproof”. We could hear pretty much EVERYTHING in not only the adjacent rooms, but those across the hall.
I mentioned it to staff at reception & he reiterated that the rooms are soundproofed. I assured him they are most definitely not. He did apologise and offered us a free bottle of wine, which was a nice gesture. Fortunately I had packed earplugs, otherwise I wouldn’t have slept well at all.
I was unwell the night before we left and hadn’t slept well and they were kind enough to allow us a midday check out with no extra cost.
We would recommend this place and stay again, but next time I’d ask for a ground floor room with direct access to our vehicle (we were upstairs and at the end of a corridor & there...
