Off to dinner for something a bit light and popped into Kao Thai Restaurant on Sydney Rd and chose seewe - stir fried flat rice noodle dish with chicken, egg and capsicum which absolutely hit the spot. Served piping hot, the noodles are so tender and flavoursome, an excellent meal washed down with a refreshing glass of coconut juice. For dessert the roti with chocolate sauce and coconut ice cream took my fancy and it was a pretty good finish to my meal. I like the coconut ice cream which is refreshing, the roti is soft and flaky but a little crunchy and enjoyed with the chocolate sauce and melted ice cream. #ThaiFood #seewe #chicken #ricenoodle #coconutjuice #roti #coconuticecream #icecream #sweettooth #dessert #foodie #melbournefood @zomatomelb #sydneyrdbrunswick

We have had Kao Thai takeaway many times. Usually we are quite impressed with their food. Though the last two times we have ordered their red duck curry the portion size has been embarrassingly small! They have filled the short sized containers only a centimetre full. We should have learnt the first time but thought we would give them another chance. Burned twice by this $17 meal...

Really authentic food and a great atmosphere. Bustling and postive staff who went the extra mile to make sure they got everything right. House wine was reasonably priced and excellent. Food wasn't under-portioned at all. It arrived really fast and was a good hearty size, leaving us full without the need for an entree. Thai milk tea was fresh and cold. Perfect experience here.

We ate in the section at the back of the restaurant for a little party we had. We had the area to ourselves and could fit around 10-15 people comfortably, any more would get tight.

The place was clean, there is a spot where there are shelves which takes up some room; however the important thing is the food and service.

The service was quite good, they were friendly and accommodating.

The food was great. Spicy chicken ribs was my favourite of the night but the pad thai was also good, the curries were great.

Quite a good little Thai restaurant and would come again. I would recommend this restaurant...

Sensational local Thai. Exceptional green curry. If you like super spicy, and ask for super spicy, you will get what you asked for (which is rare). On my first visit, I asked for "extra extra extra spicy" as I often do, and got the spiciest meal I've had in Melbourne, one of the few places that over-delivered on the spiciness I wanted! That's as good as it gets for me! But even if you don't love spicy, their normal dishes just pack a lot more flavour than the vast majority of local Thai places. Highly...
