Excellent food with an outstanding heartfelt service and community vibe. Well done! Let’s break it down…
Atmosphere: * First time here and I can say the place looks immaculate. It looks newly renovated, however the colours are welcoming, bright and lively. There is a good use of space between tables and the social vibe carries well with every patron enjoying a fun and casual dinner with friends and family. Excellent!
Customer Service: * The perfect balance of friendly care and passion for the customers vs. the regimented professionalism of ensuring that no customer is left unattended should a need a rise. Ordering is through QR or at the register, our entree arrived under ten minutes from ordering, mains arrived under ten minutes after the entree. Our table was immediately bussed when we were finished by a very friendly and caring staff member who asked after our meal. Outstanding work!
Food (Why we are here): * I can confirm the high rating is extremely well deserved Order: Garlic Pizza (entree), Chicken Parma, New Orleans Salmon, Chicken and Mushroom Risotto, Lemon Lime & Pepper Squid
Garlic Pizza: Really great starter between 4. Crispy crust, real crushed garlic and beautifully cooked cheese. Chicken Parma: Outstanding - the chicken was thick, it was lightly crumbs and the Napoli sauce was rich and full of declious herb flavouring. New Orleans Salmon: salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly - the combination of freshly cooked veggies and drizzle sauce combined to create a mouth watering flavour. Chicken and Mushroom Risotto: While it may look flat in color - the flavour was strong and rich, very tasty. Lemon Lime & Pepper Squid: Squid can be hard to avoid that rubbery texture and they certainly succeeded to get this just right and the sauce and salad provided that nice contrast of freshness. Delicious.
Overall: * Really hard to fault this experience. The lively, happy community vibe, the representatives who go above and beyond to look after you and food…the delicious food, are all combined excellently. Outstanding work Kelly’s Hotel. We hope to be...
Read moreThe ruination of a fine a drinking establishment. Once a great place to sit in comfort and take in the sporting action has now sadly lost its character and turned into table seating only. This should be called Kelly's restaurant as it is nothing like a pub. Stagnent atmosphere, bad uncompromising staff. After trying to go for a drink last night my girlfriend was not allowed in, her phone is broken so does not have the Victoria app so I signed her in on my phone, this was not good enough ,we needed to produce a certificate, we did but that also was not good enough as screenshots were not allowed. We tried to log onto Mygov but the website was down as reported in the national press. The staff didn't care. Yet people behind us with the same issue were waved through. Since the 'comfy' couches disappeared I had been prepared never to return but started to sit Crazy, one of the regular's. Having been drinking here since moving to the area 3 years ago, sadly, I will never return. Amstel and Trios are far better places to visit if you are in town.
EDIT: In the response to the reply.....The door is always open, it wasn't on Sunday for us despite showing the relevant details. Just like Dan Andrews....blame somebody or something else. How pathetic, Wet Markets, it your brain dead staff who had no reasoning but thought they had powers beyond Hitlers who wanted to single somebody out to show that muscles can be flexed in front of an onlooking queue who were waved in despite being in the same situation as us. Stick your stupid comment. I hope you go bust you deserve it now you cretin. No apology, nothing. That says it all.
Edit #2, Almost one year on, I walk to the pub to give it a go, on the busiest day of year because it's Cranbourne Cup Day............closed. Either clueless or bankrupt and if they are clueless as previously perceived then soon they may be questioning why...
Read moreMy family has been coming to Kelly’s Motel for three generations, spending thousands of dollars here over the years, but after tonight I will never step foot in this place again.
I simply asked for a smaller portion of flathead fish and chips from the menu not unreasonable, considering I had eaten a little beforehand. Instead of basic customer service, I was met with arrogance, humiliation, and flat out discrimination. I was told by a staff member that because the meal was “a kids’ meal,” I was “too old” to order it. Too old? Since when does Kelly’s Motel stafftwll what us what we are allowed to eat? She even “checked with the chef,” who also refused to serve me what I asked for. The only option they offered me was barramundi completely different from what I wanted.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, they made my entire family wait over 40 minutes for food. During that time, staff kept looking at me, whispering, and singling me out to other workers like I had done something wrong just for wanting a smaller meal. I cannot describe how uncomfortable, embarrassed, and disgusted this made me feel.
This is not just poor service it’s unprofessional, rude, and discriminatory. I felt belittled and unwelcome in a place that my family has supported loyally for decades. Tonight they made it crystal clear they don’t value their customers, their history, or their reputation.
If Kelly’s Motel thinks it’s acceptable to treat paying customers like this, they’ve lost all sense of hospitality and decency. After tonight, I will be warning everyone I know: avoid this place at all costs. Spend your money somewhere that actually respects its customers.
Shame on you, Kelly’s Motel. You’ve turned a loyal family of three generations...
