Chaat Darbar — Restaurant in Melbourne

Owner needs to look into the serious issues of Customer engagement. The lady at billing counter had no clue of the table management and just turned down 3 families ahead of us stating the wait time is about an hour. And within a minute of those customers departing, 3 tables vacated.

We were lucky to be 4th in the queue and wait for another minute to find tables vacant.

Food is sub-standard. We ordered Vada-pav only to find that the Pav was also fried with Vada. Though the taste was good, but just not the accurate dish.

Dal Bati was just ok with Bati stealing the show and Dal just being hot but not great. There was an after taste in Dal.

Papdi chat should have Papdi’s made out of Sooji/Semolina, but indeed it was just Gol gappa which couldn’t...

I had high hopes for Chat Darbar, given its vibrant reputation. However, my recent experience was nothing short of frustrating.

Firstly, the customer service was appalling. Attempts to reach out for assistance were met with unhelpful responses and a lack of empathy. It felt as though my concerns were dismissed without proper attention.

Additionally, I was shocked by the exorbitant charges for extra items that were not clearly communicated upfront. The lack of transparency regarding pricing left me feeling deceived and taken advantage of. Consumer Complaints

Ok ok ok, finally really good place for Chat (North Indian street food) in the South East. Just get here and step in to some very authentic Indian snacks and food. The awesome ones we've had so far.... Chole Batura, samosa chat, bhel puri, pan puri. If you get this right you've already nailed it. Round it off with some chai - Masala or Cardamom. Plenty if other dishes have been added in to make a super dinner. Dine in so you dont need to eat out of plastic boxes but if you have to take away they do a good job The people are very homely and friendly.
