I NEVER write reviews, but my experience really pissed me off. Had been meaning to go for ages and was excited to finally get there. The service was horrendous. The woman taking orders couldn't have cared less, barely even said hi, continued to talk with other staff (where she seemed fully engaged and interested) and just paypalled my card without asking. No 'thank you' either after the transaction (or indeed when I left). I just spent money in your business, so I at least expect some politeness. As I waited for my sandwich I watched her act exactly the same with new customers. I don't get it. You provide a customer service, so at least engage, be polite and courteous. If you can't do that, maybe don't work in customer service. She really seemed to be genuinely pissed off that people were being so rude as to order food, in a place that serves food. I honestly couldn't believe it and I feel I seen everything, having worked in hospo for over 20yrs. As a first impression, it's terrible. . I should point out though, the woman making most of the orders, at one stage served a customer and seemed better and more friendly. As for the sandwich, well, it seemed to take ages. The guy that ordered after me got his before mine and I still had a lengthy wait and it wasn't busy, as far as I could see, we were the only two waiting on food. The sandwich was fine but nothing to write home about. I would give them another try (so to try the other sandwiches on offer), but I don't think I can face that kind of customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a local in the area and I think the Sandos are way overpriced for what you get, and honestly not really that nice. We were disappointed initially with the chop cheese. We hoped it would be a classic Philly cheesesteak but itās just really sub par, and if this was Philadelphia it would be run out of town. Weāve subsequently been back and remain disappointed. I have no clue why the place remains busy, I suppose theyāre just lucky and thereās a reason people go there that has nothing to do with the food. The ingredients are pretty low quality. Low quality cheese, bread, meat. The chicken in the chicken sando isnāt even chicken breast, fresh and cooked on site. Itās the fake chicken you can buy in the sandwich aisle at the supermarket that is like 70% chicken, and they just put it in the sandwich cold. For $15 I do believe that is a crime against the sandwich gods, and all I can say is the chickens and we deserve better. If you want a sandwich just go to the Japanese cafe a few doors down and spend $15 on a chicken katsu sandwich that has actual chicken in and...

Kelsoās is one of the OG sandwich shops in Melbourne, having opened in 2016 before any of us anticipated the sandwich craze of 2022. Their menu has a wide variety of options, ranging from brekky, chop cheese baguettes, burgers, fresh and toasted sandwiches and other sides like housemade pickles and fries!
I had the Brekkie Burger - fried egg, bacon (or mushroom), hashbrown, pickles, BBQ sauce and cheese. Come before 10am and theyāll add a free coffee! It was a great size, freshly made, the bun was soft, the hash brown and bacon were both really crispy and had a good crunch to them, the egg was nicely fried. The only criticism Iād make is that there wasnāt enough sauce (Iām a sauce fiend) and it was a little oily but I guess thatās expected given the ingredients.
I highly recommend paying them a visit, I feel they deserve more recognition. I suggest taking a jacket though because they only have outdoor seating and this...
