We hadn't been to this branch for a number of years but were around the corner and felt like KFC for dinner. I wish we hadn't. They now have self serve kiosks to order from but I never have good experiences with these so went to the counter to order. The served looked at me three times but didn't tell me he'd be with me shortly; he just ignored me. After a few minutes of being ignored, I tried the kiosk. True to form it didn't have one of the items I wanted, even though it was displayed on the menu board behind the counter. So I went back to the counter where I was ignored again. Eventually I had to call the server over to explain the kiosk want working and I wanted to order from him. He then didn't know how to find an item (an extra 4 pieces of original chicken) and had to go get help to complete the order. We watched as he wiped his nose with the back of both his hands, and then he packed our chicken. When I collected the order, I checked with him whether he had packed the extra 4 pieces, which he said he had and then when I turned around to walk away I heard him say "Oh my god!" to his colleague. I checked the order before leaving as I often get the wrong order packed at KFC (yes, it's fair for you to ask me why I keep going back!) I opened the box containing the extra 4 pieces and took it back to complain. It had 2 wings, a thigh, and a drum stick. All four pieces were abnormally small, with the drum stick having barely any meat on it. The manager agreed that drum stick was below standard, but they had run out of original chicken and they could give me their last two wings or I could wait 10 minutes (while the rest of meal grew cold). Needless to say, I accepted the two wings and left. I would like to say it was worth all the trouble but to be honest the chicken was not very good - it was all way too over cooked and dry. I won't be going back to this branch and will avoid KFC in general for a...
Read moreHorrid! Arrived at the drive through, waited for 2 minutes. After which I drove up to a window where there was no one in sight. Sounded the horn twice, a minute later a young girl approached, asking me what I wanted. I said I waited for 2 minutes, to which she replied as I'm on a tall car it didn't buzz. I said fair enough, and proceeded to order a zinger burger and a zinger stacker in a meal. As I'm ordering, from a meter away, inside my car, I can hear screaming over the girls ear piece, she laughs, keeps saying "omg, just give me a second" and enters my order on the system. Then she asks me about the meal size, I say large.
She charges me $26, hands me a can of coke (small meal), and tells me to drive through. I don't buy from KFC often, but it seemed a bit expensive for what I've ordered and usually it's a bottle of coke for a large meal from memory. I decide to let it go and not be a pain even if she did mess up the drink size.
I drive on to the next window, where I am given small chips instead of large and 3 burgers, 2 stackers and one normal zinger burger.
With 2 other cars behind me, I didn't want to make a scene, so I just drive off in awe of the experience.
I understand that there are young people working in these places, but jesus, when your getting paid money to take an order, do it right. If you're distracted, apologize and ask to repeat. Confirm the order with customer before proceeding.
It's not a hard or complex job, but it's not high school neither, it's a service for which people pay money for, and as paying customers don't come back and write up these surveys, KFC is...
