My boys had a great experience here. Andrew was amazing and really patiently walked my boys (and some other children who came through) the experience of assembling their first model, along with some painting. Would recommend for any parent whose child has a potential interest in this hobby or the general niche. It's ideal for establishing whether this is for them without any upfront costs or obligations which is very rare these days. The energy put into this experience would have been exemplary in general, but 20 minutes of invested time and having something to take home at the end with no outlay is unheard of. For this reason, there is nothing to lose in trying it out even if your children have no prior interest or knowledge of Warhammer or models. The store is well-maintained, has a simple floor plan with product front and centre. It makes for an efficient and satisfying browsing experience. The range is far from disappointing, and the prices quite fair and consistent when taking into account what the hobby cost 15 years ago. Definitely worth a visit if this is...

Andrew the manager has a personal interest in the hobby, and is delighted to share it. I've seen him guide complete newbies into an enjoyable experience, then immediately relate to long term players.
If this it the first time to the store, you'll probably see some regular customers painting miniatures. Please note that while these guys are super helpful, they are not staff, but a customer just like you. They're not there to help you, (as one reviewer seemed to think) even though they probably will. The staff however WILL do everything in their power to help.
The store has only the one staff member on, usually Andrew. Occasionally the store might be closed during store hours (everyone's got to go to the loo sometime!), but it'll be open again in 5-10 minutes.

I maintain that the owner needs an attitude adjustment and to stop being obtrusive to people wanting to learn about the hobby. Answers like "Buy the book and read it yourself" to questions about how things work is not inviting to people who may be looking at getting into the hobby. Especially with the high price of the items, you would think they would take heed of the 'You catch more flies with Honey than Vinegar' adage. If you're interested in getting into the hobby, go to the city store, much...
