King & I — Restaurant in Melbourne

I placed the order in the afternoon, around 12:00pm for a delivery at 6:30pm. However, the delivery came 20 minutes late. I ordered a lot of food: Meat Spring Rolls, Beef Pad Thai, Duck Red Curry and Vegetable Tom Yum Soup.

Firstly, the food was delivered cold.

Secondly, the beef Pad Thai was extremely disappointing. There's only fried noodle with Beef slices that were tough. The normal Pad Thai consisted of bean sprouts and egg. But these were not present in the Pad Thai that I've ordered. The Pad Thai from Thai Yim Mount Waverley's so much better!

Thirdly, the taste of the Duck Red Curry was good! But they only gave a few small pieces of the duck (maybe 3-4?) The rest consisted of different types of vegetables, it doesn't justify the amount that I've paid for, unfortunately. I felt cheated as I paid more for Duck Curry instead of a vegetarian option.

Lastly, the taste of the Tom Yum soup was good. Again, it's a matter of perspective. They gave a lot of ingredients where the ingredient was more than the soup. Depending on what individual preferences you have but the reason why I ordered a soup was for the soup instead of the...

I ordered via Uber Eats and when I received my order it was not correct. When I rang to try and get the order fixed, rather than just admitting they had mixed up the order (which I wouldn't have minded as accidents happen and people can be busy or distracted) I was just told, 'nope that's our version' and apparently I should have specified on my order if I wanted the standard way of doing it. No where is it mentioned on their ordering page that there are options for this, or that it's not the traditional version. No effort was made for customer service which was rather dissappointing. I'm only giving this place 3 stars based on the service which was good. I have been here several times but the food has deteriorated. We ordered both the green chicken curry and the beef rendang curry. I can't believe restaurants serve cheap sirloin beef and pass this off for $20 a dish. The meat is stringy and dry if it wasn's cooked in the curry sauce. It's a shame, go to Thailand and see how they cook and present their curries it looks and tastes nothing like this.
