This review is based on a recent encounter had with the manager (now i know it was the owner) on wanting to book the venue for a function. I cannot speak to the food, but the treatment i received was incredibly unprofessional. Hopefully after this review, the manager will clean up his act. i am happy for anyone that has questions to contact me, rather than just accept the manager's response. (I say manager's because an owner would NEVER turn away business he is trying to win.) As background, i contacted the venue to arrange for a birthday function and was very keen to pay on the spot, just needed clarity on the menu that was offered. I was only told there will be finger food, white and red wine. I was keen to discuss and come to an agreement right there and then, but he only wanted me to sms him my number, my email address and even though i was keen to put the deposit on the spot, he said he'd send the menu over. After 2 days silence and no response, i get a very impersonal text/menu that was incredibly vague. After numerous attempts to contact, discuss and clarify, and with absolutely no answer back; eventually i was given a BS response, about them not budging on the price (which i never questioned) and any alchool not used would stay with them, but none of any of the questions i asked, were addressed or answered. I never questioned the price, just wanted clarity on the menu, but i was offered an Extremely rude, unprofessional, arrogant manager/owner. One really easy to boycot - especially as they are keen on offering fish and chips as mexican food (v questionable) ... i am sure he will be a bit more careful with turning down the community.... and clean up his act after this review, but i feel for his employees who he was extremely condescending and abrupt to ... to his employees... i hope he starts being more respectful to you guys as well. if anyone has any questions, i am happy to help, always, but hopefully i am the sacrifical lamb for this one and everyone else has a good experience after this... especially the "fake reviewers"

The waitress that served us seemed very confused while taking our order and serving us, which made the ordering process quite difficult.
The food was also very disappointing. You can make better Nachos at home. The guacamole and salsa was the equivalent of Coles brand. We didn’t even finish the fish tacos that we ordered because they were very dry and overly smokey tasting.
The cocktails were fine, but at $22 they were still very up there in regards to price.
The manager who took payment from us had both his AirPods in, and was clearly on a phone call to somebody else while serving us.
The poor customer service and mediocre food quality was pretty disappointing - especially since for 2 people it cost nearly $100. For the price point I would expect better food quality and customer service.

The owner was belligerent when given feedback about the wine - a subpar house wine posing as a $40+ bottle option! There are many Mexican options in the inner east of Melbourne - this isn’t one. The wines are not award winning at all. 😂👎🏽. Food was also subpar and lacking spice - which makes me wonder if the owner / chef has ever visited Mexico or just watched YouTube clips.
I think the response from the owner below (which is factually also incorrect on almost every point according to the 3 others there) proves the point. In fact his responses are worthwhile examples of how not to treat customers. The owner is defensive and has a take it or leave it attitude.
