I will never eat here again. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered the grilled chicken peanut sauce and my friend ordered the pork stir fry. They didnt cook my chicken properly so I complained and said i wouldnt pay and they threatened me with the police. Even the security guard they called threatened me with the police too. All I did was tell them the chicken I ordered wasnt cooked so I didn’t eat it and that my friend got sick because her pork was cold so we werent paying. I wasnt aggressive..I didnt yell. Then wen we asked to be taken to head office the security guard said I’M head office! that was their attitude..because even the waitress said that wen I asked to speak to her manager. Then wen we were finally taken up to head office the head security guard said we didnt do anything wrong and shouldn’t have paid. I asked the waitress before we went to head office if we could get a discount and she said 20%. We calculated it and she hadnt given it to us so I told her and then we found out after she only gave us 12%. When the head security guard said we shouldnt have paid I said can you come with us to the restaurant so we can get a refund? He said no we don’t deal with those matters..just send an email to this retailers email that he gave us from a card. Highpoint is just bad customer service! The whole thing stressed us out so much. I said to the waitress your customers come first. I’ve been in customer service for over 10yrs and I’ve never treated people like this..I even went to the chef because she wouldn’t come to our table when I said I wouldn’t pay..because when I asked the waitress to remake my first plate I could see the kitchen from our table and the chef put the whole plate in the microwave! Then when it was brought back to me I told the waitress and said I want it all done from scratch. She took it back and I saw the chef put mine and everyone elses rice in the microwave. How do I trust she did my chicken fresh? when it came back and I tasted it, it was cold to luke warm on the outside and one little hot spot in the middle and thats it..I wouldve gotten sick if I ate it..plus the rice was cold and the veggies were the same as the chicken..plus the menu said grilled chicken but it wasnt..it was soft..plus my watermelon mocktail had a piece of watermelon on the top that was off and it was just squeezed watermelon when on the drinks menu it says watermelon plus a mix of exotic fruits. When I told the waitress all of this she just kept insisting the chicken was hot and blamed me and my friend for talking too long and not eating it when you could clearly see they were touched. So when I told her and the chef we ate it straight away they both kept insisting it was hot. I said to the chef you have the worst customer service and walked off. To do that to customers when the food is not made fresh and one already got sick and the others chicken would have made her sick is unacceptable so be very weary if you ever eat at...
Read moreDecided to try this new Thai eatery on Level 1 of High Point, Maribynong, whilst waiting for my daughter. I've passed it a few times since it opened, and it seems well patronised.
As I was eating alone, I decided on just a simple, quick hunger fix that I have had umpteen hundred times before both here in Melbourne and in Thailand.
I speak of none other than the quintessentially Thai dish of ' Pad Krapow' (Gai) or "Stir-fired Basil (Chicken)" Although I could have had another choice of protein, with the notable exception of 'pork'.
Regardless of what time of day you have this dish, it's quite common to have it with a fried egg on top and served over rice. This is how it is most commonly sold in Thailand.
I was informed most apologetically at the outset by the waitress that I could not have an egg on my dish because they were now serving only the "Dinner menu'. I did insist, and she did go to the kitchen service window to ask the chef on my behalf, only to return with the same sad news. I'd like to point out here that I don't believe they only have a separate Breakfast Menu or Lunch menu or Dinner Menu, just a one size fits all food menu.
I just thank my lucky stars that I didn't order the Pad Thai, as that is a dish in which the egg is an integral part of the recipe, unless I guess you order in the evening at Kinn Thai.
The dish arrived with unexpectedly large slices of chicken, lazy preparation perhaps? There didn't seem to be much in the way of basil leaves, and the taste confirmed that. There was only the slightest hint of basil.
The rice was not hot and fluffy, nor aromatic as Thai Jasmine rice normally is. It was all clumped up, cold and very pitiful.
Needless to say, I was disappointed. And told the cashier as much when I paid the bill. I told her that the meal was atrocious. In fact, it would have to have been the worst example of Pad Krapow that I have ever had in my life, and a total rip-off for A$26.
I think it is time that the review system was changed to add negative Stars. Kinn Thai Highpoint certainly deserves several.
It's frightening that Kinn Thai can't get even a simple dish like this right. Sad. And I'm still...

I usually don't leave bad reviews but this experience has left us deeply disrespected. My friend took me out for lunch as a gesture of support during my ongoing hospital appointments related to cancer treatment. It was also her first outing since having a newborn baby. We arrived at your restaurant on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, where there were numerous empty tables available.Despite the availability of seating, we were left standing for an extended period without anyone acknowledging us. Eventually, I approached the bar and politely requested a table. We emphasized the need for a seat away from drafts due to my friend's baby in a pram.Regrettably, the response from your staff was far from accommodating. They reluctantly seated us in a cramped section right next to other patrons, despite the rest of the restaurant being empty. To add insult, this staff member remarked to my friend that prams are not allowed but made an exception "only because it's quiet."This comment was not only insensitive but discriminatory. My friend's baby, who is only two months old, was peacefully asleep throughout our entire meal, causing no disturbance whatsoever. We simply requested basic courtesy and consideration, which unfortunately were not extended to us.Additionally, the service we received was dismissive and rude. When we asked for water for our table, it was unceremoniously dumped next to us as if it were a burden to fulfill such a request.I must commend one waitress who did provide excellent service and the food itself was enjoyable. However, the overall experience was severely tainted by the disrespectful treatment we encountered. As a result of this experience, we have no intention...
