The loveliest staff and the most incredible food! My family and I have been going to Kitchen Malaysian for years and years, even before they moved to their new Doncaster location, and it has always been a 10/10 restaurant. Some absolute standouts on the menu: 🔥 Chicken Roti Canai – the perfect crispy, flaky roti with rich, flavorful curry. 🐟 Fish Head Curry – bold, aromatic, and packed with depth. 🍜 Laksa – silky, spicy, and so comforting. 🍗 Golden Chicken Ribs – crispy, juicy, and impossible to stop eating! The homemade roti is always next level—so fresh and perfectly made. Every dish here feels like it’s made with love and tradition. On top of that, the staff are truly the best—so welcoming and friendly. They are always so kind to my grandma, even walking her from our table to the car, which means the world to us. Their hospitality and warmth make every visit even more special. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, delicious Malaysian food. Can’t recommend it enough! 🙌✨

Hainanese Chicken Rice was not bad, except it had way too many bones in the chicken, even small chipped bones! Ruined my lunch experience. This dish is famous for using boneless chicken, except I feel that they gave us all the boney pieces instead, to make it look like a large portion. Very deceiving. I filled up my empty soup bowl with all the bones!! My mother was scared of swallowing chipped bones and choking. Very disappointing!! 😒 I've had better Hainanese Chicken Rice elsewhere. Also the rice portion was smaller than expected. The soup was not served hot, more like luke warm. They gave very little chili sauce and even forgot to give the "standard" ginger sauce!! And where was the cucumber??!! Not very authentic at all. I have eaten this dish in 4 different countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Australia) and this preparation by Kitchen Malaysian is by far the most inferior and not worth the money spent. Service is not as good as other restaurants I've been to. If we go again (which I highly doubt after this review), I will order the nasi lemak instead, or maybe request "no bones" in the hainanese chicken rice... or maybe just go somewhere else.... Junior Tan Hawker Kitchen in Bayswater has 100x better service, quality food and generous portions!! Even Laksa Village is better than Kitchen Malaysian!! 😋

Really nice setting and unsuspecting as Kitchen Malaysia looks like a normal house renovated to be a restaurant. One of the biggest reasons coming here was to get the fish head curry. But unfortunately they do not serve it Friday-Sunday for some reason, very disappointing. We ended up ordering three dishes, the chicken and beef rangdang laksa and the Nasi lemak. These were some generous portion sizes but typical for Malaysian cuisine. The laksa broth was one of the most flavoursome I've had, lots of depth and slightly spicy, 3/10 level. However the beef was a bit tough, not as fall apart as I would have liked. The chicken was just shredded roast chicken I assume, not a thigh piece like I would have liked. The Nasi lemak was okay... it wasn't served with coconut rice which it usually is. Nothing special to write home about 3/5. Overall it's a nice place to eat but the food is average at best.

Living in the area and thought we would check it out for a Sunday lunch. The place was so full. Parking at the back and on the streets were all taken. We had to park across the road. We ordered CKT, Chicken Laksa and Dry Spicy Pan Mee. The food was delicious and the serving portion was generous. However, they were not as authentic as other places. The chicken laksa broth was too thick and had too much coconut milk in it. It also could be spicier. The CKT was a tad too salty and the hor fun was too wide. It looked more like fried beef hor fun type noodles. The spicy pan mee was the most authentic but it was a tad too oily and spicy. We might check out their main course dishes next time.

I had dinner here on a Saturday night, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The restaurant is very spacious, which makes it perfect for a good family outing. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, allowing us to relax and enjoy our meal. The food was served in generous portions, ensuring that everyone left feeling satisfied. Each dish was well-prepared and delicious, adding to the overall positive experience. Given the excellent service and the quality of the food, we are already looking forward to our next visit. We will definitely be back again very soon. *** Even while eating my leftover takeout, I’m writing this review.

The food was ok. I had the Yong tau foo curry laksa. It was very boring as most of it was tofu stuffed with fish paste. Vegetable wise there was one large chilli pepper stuffed with fish paste, and some beans. It needed more vegetables to balance out the dish. Tofu, tofu, and bean curd got a bit tedious. Eggplant, a bit of Bok choy, and another veg like normal available selections at grand tofu would have helped a lot. The curry tasted ok. Nothing special. But the noodles were well cooked, and food was quick to be served. Waitress was fine. Fish head laksa was good and had a lot of bones. The other noodle soup dish looked a bit bland.
