We’ve eaten here before, but sadly never again. The staff were unprofessional and just outright rude apart from one girl who was trying to hold the whole restaurant together by herself. It took over 40 mins for 3 soft drinks and a wine. The women behind the counter was just standing around looking at us instead of making the drink and helping out. The atmosphere was shocking as all we could hear was people complaining around us and seeing the wait staff storm about clearly unhappy with the situation. We had pizza and the seafood basket. Sadly the pizza bases were soggy and the ingredients were not fresh. The seafood was straight out of the freezer and was rubbery, flavourless and extremely underwhelming for the price plus they charged extra for a limp salad, they forgot to put dress after the waitress advised it came with chips and salad. The chef came out and was so unhygienic touching tables with his gloves on and then returning to the kitchen to touch food without washing, using his tea towel to wipe his face that he then wipes his hand on and again prepared food. We ordered 4 coffee so that we could continue chatting and we got a coffee at a time and all cold. They tasted nothing like a latte,it was just gross. There is nothing Italian about this place and I would never return. Do yourself a favour and go...
Read moreIt’s Sunday night, I’m hungry and I have a craving for wood fire baked pizza.
So I searched around for a pizza restaurant in the northeastern suburbs to fulfil that need and I thought I’ll give La Salita a try.
When I entered the venue the delicious aromas of Italian cooking hit me and I was almost tempted to veer away from my planned pizza purchase. The place was bustling with customers and the pizza chef was hard at it making orders.
My order was a margarita, a vegetarian, a bruschetta pizza, and my own concoction of prosciutto, hot salami, prawns, chilli flakes with cheese and Napoli sauce.
My order was made quickly and steaming hot. So the question is how did it taste?
It was delicious! The base has that stretchy chew with a fluffy crust and a thin base, just as a proper pizza should be. The toppings were sufficient but not excessive, the only thing I would suggest for the margarita is rather than grated, processed mozzarella, I’d use sliced bocconcini to get that melt and puddles of white amongst the Napoli sauce.
Pricing was good value as well with a large margarita pizza costing you $18 and it’s a genuine large!
All in all I am very satisfied with La Salita and I will return, but this time to try some of the other delights on the menu.
Recommend for locals to go and try it for yourself,...
