O.M.G Unilab in Bundoora is bloody delicious!!

—

What we dined on: Haloumi Eggs served on pumpkin bread with hummus dip, fresh spinach, a medley of tomatoes, grilled halloumi cheese and some dukkah on top. This was sensational! I love Mediterranean style breakfast dishes like this so this was my favourite out of the two savouries 😍

Zucchini, Corn and Haloumi Fritters served with smashed avo (obligatory), tomato relish, horseradish sour cream and chive sauce with some poached eggs on the side. This dish was so delicious and full of flavour- each component added just the right amount of flavour! The fritters were not dry AT ALL if I had to nitpick one tiny thing it would be just that the fritters were a little too wet but honestly I am so sick of dry fritters at cafes and these were freaking awesome

Nutella Waffles served with a strawberry salad, Nutella mousse, vanilla bean custard, roasted hazelnuts and a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream. This dish was incredible. The flavours were beautiful and the strawberry balanced out the density of the dish significantly. I also loved the addition of the hazelnuts as it provided a great juxtaposition in textures. This dish was out of this world

All in all we had a lovely experience, staff were friendly but a little more friendliness and checking up on meals would’ve been appreciated as they hovered at points without saying anything. Only a slight little criticism I still give this place a 5/5 😊

This was an invite however all reviews regardless of invitation are unbiased and straight...

This brunch place in Bundoora is a must try when you’re in the area! ✨

Unilab is located in the DFO Uni Hill, very easy to spot from their cool neon sign if you’re indoor or from the cute umbrellas if you’re outdoor. They have plenty of seatings inside and outside, so you can sit anywhere depending on your mood!

We decided to sit inside cause their booth decor was so cute, and we ordered the following:

☕️ Iced Coffee of course! Best drink for hot days. 🍫 Nutella Waffles 🐥 Chicken Little (marinated chicken with brown rice, salad, smashed avo, roti and mayo) 🍗 Buttermilk Fried Chicken with chips and slaw

Everything was so flavorful and delicious, nicely presented and the portion size was generous! The nutella waffle was so yummy and sweet, but the nutella mousse really stole the show and got us drooling so hard that we just wanna buy a whole jug of that if we could 😂

I don’t know if the Chicken Little was meant to be eaten as a wrap with the Roti, but I did it anyway combining all ingredients on the plate and it was awesomeee ✨ definitely recommended.

The buttermilk fried chicken and chips were seasoned well and crispy, just like what you’d expect. I could see myself munching on them while watching netflix 😋

They serve breakfast & lunch menu all day and don’t forget to check out their specials too ‼️

We have plans to explore more on what Bundoora has to offer in the future and we definitely see ourselves getting brunch here as the first...

I will start off by saying the food was good, BUT everything else was extremely disappointing, as we sat down and were given a cutlery box with only napkins and forks I noticed how dirty the actual box was - not up to health and safety standards. We ordered our food and coffees/drinks at the COUNTER as instructed but were disappointed when we saw the other tables getting table service, we felt disconnected and not valued as customers after seeing this. We had gotten our food first and waited SO LONG for our coffees and drinks when it should have been the first to come THEN the food not only that but we needed knifes to eat our food and told 3 waitresses this and after saying they will return with knives it took them 20 minutes and 3 people to eventually get the rest of our cutlery, very poor service. I had order an oat milk latte and when it was received upon taking my first sip of the coffee, I almost spat it out! The coffee was extremely bitter and was disgusting to say the least, we were very disappointed the coffee beans were not at all good! I also noticed a waitress that looked like they had been crying and was visibly upset, wether it be from another staff member or customer, they deserved to have been treated better, and maybe something or someone has to change, having upset workers is upsetting for customers and the worker themselves, maybe they needed more support, it seems like no support was given, I hope that...
