Food quality is okay but customer service is appalling. We came in on a Saturday evening (a bit before 5pm) and asked for a table at a quiet corner (as we wanted to talk over our meals). We knew complete quietness would be impossible in a restaurant, but we just wished to be seated where there might be a bit less noise. The waiter led us to a table in a far-end corner of the restaurant, but mimicked "quiet corner" as he spoke to another waiter. Did he think we couldn't hear it? Then while we were waiting, he impatiently told us that we would have our table for only 60 minutes given it was a busy Saturday night. Had we known that rule, we wouldn't have chosen to be in that restaurant at all. We then ordered our first dish, and 2 more dishes a bit later. We were still eating when the same waiter came and wanted to clear the dishes from our table. When we said we had not finished yet, he rushed us - citing that other customers were coming in. It was a shocking and extremely unpleasant experience for us - being treated with such lack of respect and rudeness. While the food is tasty, we would not go back to Laksa King Glen Waverley ever again. (I myself had been to Laksa King Flemington many times and loved the food quality and customer service there, but very disappointed with the service at LK Glen Waverley). If customer service is not important and if such rude manners continue, we wonder who would be keen to return to...
Read moreHighly recommend this venue !!! It is worth the travelling time from CBD, the good point is that it is located in front of the train station, so convenience. Cozy place, high quality and tasty food at reasonable price. This is not my first time here; we drive from Narre Warren North to this suburb just because of this restaurant, so tasty and worthy. Haven’t regrated any single time eating in this store. Highly recommend you guys to order the mushroom and tofu, I think it’s homemade one, well flavoured, colourful, the tofu is soft, when you eat it, it melts in your mouth. Confit duck is stand out, cook perfectly with crispy duck skin on top, soft and juicy duck meat underneath. The sauce is well-balanced, you guys should order this with rice, so it will not be salty. Laksa broth is amazing, it contains hot and fatty, it might look oily but actually, it’s not, you guys probably want to finish all of the soup, because it’s so tasty. The venue is warm, cozy, bright inside. I don’t think you guys can book a table here, maybe can if a big group. You might need to queue in here; it’s often crowded because many people want to enjoy the good food in here. The staff is friendly, and they are good at serving and cleaning. There are around two staff and one manager on the floor, but they can handle the service, make it run smoothly as well as make the customers feel...
Read moreI visited this restaurant for the first time on a busy Friday night, and the atmosphere was bustling with patrons. I had to wait about 10 minutes to place my order, which was understandable given the crowd. I decided to try a total of four dishes.
First, the stay chicken really impressed me. It was well-marinated, bursting with flavor, and cooked to perfection, making it a standout of the evening. The pork dumplings were also delightful; they had a nice, savory filling and a soft, tender wrapper that I thoroughly enjoyed.
On the other hand, the Hainan chicken rice did not live up to my expectations. The chicken was disappointingly dry and lacked the flavor I had hoped for. Even the rice, which is typically a highlight in this dish, was dry and seemed to have been sitting around for a bit too long, almost like it was from the previous day.
I had high hopes for the nasi lemak as it looked visually appealing, but unfortunately, the overall taste was quite disappointing. It didn't have the rich flavors I anticipated, leaving me feeling unsatisfied.
Despite these shortcomings, I may consider returning to the restaurant in the future, primarily to give the Curry Laksa a try. It seems to have received positive reviews, and I’d like to see if it lives up...
