Be careful before attending this SURCHARGE BAR:
This restaurant has a minimum of $30 for payment by card (since I have started frequenting this restaurant a few years ago);
This restaurant has 1.5% surcharge on payment on whichever card, no matter it's credit card or savings, in light of customers use their eftpos facilities by paying on card (since most recent 1 or 2 years, rule no.1 remains);
This restaurant always charges a wrong figure after surcharge, admantly believing it's right. When you need to pay $42.224 after surcharge, they charge $42.25 (instead of $42.22); When you need to pay $36.0325 after surcharge, they charge $36.05 (instead of $36.03); Their reason strongly advised by the staff is they need to make it in units of c5;
This restaurant charges c10 for each piece of takeaway lightweight non-reusable plastic bag (since some point after last Saturday, as it still hasn't charged so last Saturday night, but does so today. To me, this is taking advantage of statewide plastic ban. Using paper bag instead and offering it free for takeaway is what you should do, as opposed to selling your non-reusable 15-micron plastic bags at c10 each);
I felt disgusting about recent visits and happy to take my own bag today. When the food was put in my bag, I was asked seriouly "Do you need cutlery?" (cutlery was by default in bag for every single visit previously. OMG? another surcharge in the making?)
I was a regular since my residence in Glen Waverley, but will never...
Read moreWill never set foot in this China Bar ever again, only reason I did was because Burwood One was closed for renovations and previous experiences have been average at the Glen store but this was an absolute disgrace.. I've had this dish at Burwood One and was very good but when I had the China Bar Special fried rice with three little prawns at The Glen China Bar I was that hungry at 11.30.at night I had to eat it .. it was gluggy rice with no decent added ingredients of other food but the whole complete dish and plate was covered in like a fatty thick sauce creation it was like it had been cooked in lard it was absolute pure filth and this is a signature dish and I know what it's meant to be like because I've had it at Burwood One on many occasions and it's fresh loose and rice nicely separates with plenty of added ingredients.. and yiu were not that busy at all.. You are pigs in there .. its unclean, I had to get someone to come out to serve me outside after 2 ignored me through the window.. If you eat here your a desperate fool as I was at the time but never ever again and it makes me sceptical of all China Bars now .. I hope Burwood One never turns bad because it suits my late nights sometimes .. just do your basic monotonous job properly and provide food for the price that is paid...
