As an Uber delivery driver, I had an unfortunate experience at this restaurant. After receiving the order inside, the owner — who appeared to be a middle-aged woman — asked me to confirm the order in a manner that was impolite, rude, and belittling. When I angrily asked her to speak more respectfully and that I am not her slave, she told me to leave the restaurant repeatedly. Then I called her stupid and left. Later, I found that she had given me a low rating on the Uber platform, perhaps thinking it would affect me negatively.

The restaurant is named “Lucky 88,” referencing the Chinese tradition that associates the number 8 with luck and prosperity. However, true success in the food industry — or any business — should be built on genuine courtesy, kindness, and respect toward others, not just symbolic beliefs or luck.

This interaction made me reflect on the differences I’ve experienced with Japanese restaurant owners around the world, who often operate with humility, professionalism, and a deep respect for their customers and partners. It's important to recognize that not everyone is suited for roles that require patience and interpersonal skills. With all due respect, this restaurant has declined in the past six months . Food is so salty it's not eatable.The customer service has declined dramatically. Forget about even trying to tell the owners where they go wrong with feedback ,they don't admit fault basically don't care . I noticed on a review there is a new place that has opened up in Mill Park. It's Duck and Dumpling house. It's in Mill Park stables.. You think they only do dumplings and duck . No no no .. They have all the same stuff like lucky 88 but better by far . Taste is amazing ,service is incredibly nice and they give you free sauces how many you want .Lucky 88 charge you.

I just came past here for some takeaway! Wow the staff were so friendly, I ordered some beef and black bean, lucky88 special fried rice, and some spring rolls, and a can of coke the lovely lady said to me that they had a special for the spring rolls so I got 2x the amount! Also the can of coke was given for free also! I was told the wait time would be 10 minutes so I decided to wait in my car, after about 7 minutes, I was about to go inside and see if it was ready, the man from the shop actually brought it to my car! Absolutely Amazing service!.

The food was delicious!! The beef was so soft and tender, the rice had a beautiful taste and the spring rolls were great too! I will definitely be coming back here again!
