Food was nice, but, being yelled at, not worth a try.

Food was good, though when I went to pay, one of their employees was super rude as they were having issues with their EFTPOS, this is what happened:

Their EFTPOS machine registered the payment in my account, however, as we were leaving, the counter asked me to stay and he explained that the payment didn't go through as their machine went offline and told me I have to pay again as I would receive a refund shortly. I stayed, my friend had to leave to work, and I tried a new payment again, and, again the machine shut off, the payment was registered on my phone, and he said the same thing happened again.

I said to him I won't try to pay again until I get a refund recorded on my account. I was waiting for a while without any refund to my account, enough time for other customers to go out, find and ATM and come back!. I said to him I would wait few minutes more but if no refund was registered on my account, I would leave as the payment was already taken. The guy got angry and started to be rude and yielded at me, so I replied back. He said I can't leave and I have to pay. He then explained that this has happened 4 times already today!!! The payments were eventually refunded, but he shouldn't had been so rude. He should had informed us before hand that his EFTPOS wasn't working well and I would have paid in cash. He was probably having a bad day but this is not the way to treat customers. I asked him to tell next customers that his machine wasn't working and he said he won't say that because his machine some times works! What a joke.

Food was nice, but, being yelled at, not...

Tasteless food, poor service but not cheap.

My partner and I were seated in a corner which was the start of our woes. Inattentive staff barely noticed us, and we had to wave to get their attention. This corner table was neglected.

As I noticed later, all other tables around us, except ours had chopsticks and other condiments. We were given forks and had to specifically ask for chopsticks. We never got the water we asked for. Or the condiments. And it doesn’t feel nice to ask repeatedly.

The food didn’t redeem this place either. Here’s a breakdown: -Peking duck roll: Ambiguous taste. -Shao(Xiao) long bao: dry, flavourless, barely any soup inside, thick yet flimsy wrappers. Seems store bought. -Stir fry beef with flat noodles: Mostly noodles, barely any beef. Vague, bland taste. -Coconut juice: Seemed past its use by date. Was strangely fermented. -Lipton ice tea: The best part of our meal, and it came prepackaged.

Staff behaved like we weren’t worth their time. Despite all of this, on my way out I thanked the waitress and she didn’t even look up.

The place isn’t particularly cheap either. Certainly more $$ than $ as suggested on Google.

I had high expectations of this place, going by its ratings, but I’m thoroughly disappointed. It says a lot when the Italian cafĂ© up the road serves better dumplings than a place with Dumplings in its name.

I should have understood from its name that we might have had a better experience if we were Lucky. Unfortunately we weren’t, and this place shall no longer have...

Ordered here having not eaten there for over a year, maybe more. A year or so ago, it was a regular Friday lunch for Pan fried dumplings and on several other occasions I had ordered other items all of which very happy with and recommended. However, as mentioned I ordered from them, last week and have to say the standard has dropped. Not sure if there has been a change in staff but I wasn't very pleased at all. On this order, we got, Pan fried pork dumplings, Special fried rice and Seafood and Veg noodles. Apart from the menulog driver spilling the dumpling sauce over and leaking it all in the bag, the dumplings, were... ok. The special fried rice wasn't that special but fluffy and tasted like any other special fried rice, so was acceptable. The seafood noodles was the most disappointing. The taste was ok, but most of all was the lack of, 'seafood'. two prawns, about two pieces of squid, and i think two fish balls that had been cut in half, so you could say you got four pieces. The veg in it too was disappointing. One bunch of small bak chop cut in half, carrots and a couple of stalks from Chinese broccoli. ( it seemed like these were left over or scraps from another dish) I was looking another dish I had had in the past but couldn't find it on the menu, Chili Tofu and Eggplant. It's really sad that the standard has dropped as this was one Chinese restaurant I felt was different and could rely on for a good nice meal happy with, but...

We met up with a friend, and since Lucky Little Dumpling was close by, she suggested we have our meal there. She took charge of the ordering, and we got a mix of dishes: Fish Fillet Cooked in Sichuan Chili Oil, Stir-Fried Salted Fish with Chicken and Tofu in a Clay Pot, Stir-Fried Pork Intestine with Vegetables in a Sichuan Clay Pot, and Stir-Fried Green Beans with Pork Mince and Chili. For me, the Fish Fillet Cooked in Sichuan Chili Oil was just okay — the fish didn’t quite soak up the flavors as much as I expected. The Stir-Fried Salted Fish with Chicken and Tofu in a Clay Pot was well-balanced, not too salty, and enjoyable. I also liked that the Stir-Fried Green Beans with Pork Mince and Chili weren’t overly oily. The most interesting dish was the Stir-Fried Pork Intestine with Vegetables in a Sichuan Clay Pot. The pork intestine had a nice crispiness, but the vegetables had a slight sourness to them, which was different from other versions I’ve had at Chinese restaurants. Overall, the meal was fine — not particularly outstanding, but decent enough for a casual get-together.

Really bad experience at Bundoora lucky little dumplings today! Have ordered the two pieces of the Peking duck roll cost me $7.8, and they were very tiny pieces like the picture, the duck inside was very tiny piece and not fresh cooked duck for sure. Wasn’t quite happy initially but was thinking will express my unsatisfactory when check out. Today’s checkout person( a man) have never met this person before although I’ve been a returned customer in the past few years. He is not professional as if this happens in the other restaurants, the cost of that dish should be waived at the checkout especially customer has been already not quite happy with it. However, that man asked me had you been here before? I said yes, he asked:” have you had this dish before? I said no, he also emphasised that this restaurant is not “shao la ( Cha siu) restaurant. These are the excuse and I don’t understand why he linked Peking duck with Cha siu. Anyway, very bad experience and will never came back to this restaurant again!

Just okay. Ordered the pork pan-fried dumplings, pork and prawn wonton in sichuan chilli sauce, and the fish in dry chilli oil dish. The pork pan-fried dumplings was okay, the taste of the dumpling was nothing special, not juicy enough and the skin was too dry (tasted overcooked). The pork and prawn wonton was bit better with the filling inside juicier and tastier but the sauce was bit different from what we were used to, slightly sour most likely from the Chinese vinegar sauce. It was topped with sesame seeds and came a bit warm, not hot enough. Lastly, the fish in dry chilli oil, it was also okay, not enough fish and too much cabbage, portion to fish to everything else was quite less, not worth the price, don't recommend this one. Overall, average. Good if you're in a pinch and itching for some dumplings in the bundoora area but nothing special.
