Update: i called to speak to the owner to clarify and sent email. Final conclusion is admission that the food was sent as per picture and the serving is that size. Owner is reviewing why his prices on ubereat is that high. All my original post now confirmed as fact by both parties.
Original review: My friend sent me some food and this is what arrived for almost $70.
A quarter/third small box of rice noodle with half a bowl of sauce. Half a bowl of egg tofu for a main.
This is not right. Since I did not make the Uber booking I cannot directly request a re-delivery.
Judge for yourself.
In respond to the owner. This was delivered by ubereats. I got the price from trying to order same food from uber eats not from my friend. Surely Ubereat takes a cut but that’s how much it cost on the apps and anyone can check. At time of checking (32.90 + 22.90 + uber delivery fee $8 + uber service fee $5 = $68.8) Owner initially accused of us having eaten this partly and then post - Exactly my point! This is as it arrives not eaten. Why does it look like this! The sauce on the side was from moving during delivery. This is as soon as wrap was taken off! Instead of trying to rectify to call a customer’s feedback as fake is sad considering i like eating here in person and has done so many times. Just disappointed with this one order through uber eats. Maybe check your order for the same item for today and see which staff cook them to avoid future mistake instead of being so defensive. Then you will find the order was true and not fake. If there is any chance of prank it would be from either your staff or the...
Read moreWhile I don’t often visit that side of town it was definitely well worth the trip. The modern interior differentiated it from your typical local Chinese restaurant. And while it was relaxed casual dining the flavours were delicious and the ingredient quality spot on.
I started with mango special which was a fruity frozen mango drink topped with lychees and little textural pearls. This was on the sweet side but quite refreshing. Others at the table opted to try the traditional Malaysian cold coffee which was by all accounts enjoyable.
Food wise we had the chicken roti rolls for entree. Mains were honey prawns, sweet and sour fish, Mongolian beef, salt and pepper calamari and the signature chicken ribs. Ie everyone’s favourite classic Chinese dishes. I enjoyed each dish immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to order them all again. I thought the s&p calamari was one of the best renditions I’ve had and the fish was also exceptional. I seriously couldn’t fault any of it.
I’m not huge on Chinese desserts but the pineapple fritter was quite tasty. The more adventurous among us opted for the ‘sweet snowy’ which is the authentic Malaysian dish comprising of ice cream, grass jelly, red bean and creamed corn. This is a very generous serving and one can easily be shared between two. It’s quite a striking presentation and well worth trying if you are up for something different. Overall, if the food is like this on the west side perhaps I need to cross the bridge...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised about this place. The curry laksa was spot on. Just the right amount of chilli and the coconut milk was not over powering. I’d recommend the pork belly curry laksa. Wan tan mee was also good. Just like back home. Only disappointing dish was the nasi lemak. Not sure how they can screw up the sambal which I usually the star of the dish. It felt like chilli oil and not sambal. I’d also recommend the Char koey teow. Tell them extra wok hei and med chilli. Hits the spot. It’s got the fried pork lard and Chinese sausage (lap cheong). That’s how it should be done. Hainanese chicken rice was stock standard, can’t go wrong. Although the chilli given doesn’t feel like it has the right balance vinegar and chilli. Felt like it’s siracha chilli. It’s priced slightly on the higher end which understandably because it’s in a mall. Good and friendly service. Big space for a big group too. I’ll be back to try out the other dishes. Overall a 7/10 with rooms of...
